Subject: Friendly Competition [Timberpaw] Wed 16 Oct 2024 - 6:07
"So, you got dad for a mentor... Lucky you." Falconmoon was always busy, being the deputy and all, though Honeybee figured it only made sense. Wolfstar was training Spiderpaw who had joined the clan not long ago either, perhaps that was just how the high ranks wanted to do things. Make sure the cats that were brought into Skyclan were loyal and really knew what they were doing. She wasn't sure where the flash of jealousy came from, but Honeybee shoved it down. Timberpaw was a clanmate. And it wasn't his fault her mentor had up and vanished after hardly training her.
The fluffy she-cat gave her head a small shake, blue eyes focusing on Timberpaw. "Alright, let's see what he's taught you, then. Claws sheathed, got it? This is a spar, not a real fight."
The suggestion of a spar was all it had taken to lure Timberpaw from camp. He didn't know Honeybee all that well yet, but the she-cat didn't seem much older than him, and she'd been kind so far. He took a moment to glance around the area the warrior had chosen, taking note of the terrain and anything he could use to advantage.
"No claws, got it!" he said, turning to face her with a determined grin.
There was a moment of hesitation where he tried to decide whether to let her take the first move, but only a moment - Honeybee was a warrior, he was an apprentice, surely she wouldn't take it personally. He dropped his head below his shoulders, yellow eyes trained on the she-cat's face... and then he darted forward, springing vertically at the last second and attempting to come down on her shoulders.
Timberpaw used Leap-and-Hold on Honeybee, dealing 5 damage at the cost of 15 energy. Honeybee is held for 2 turns.
Timberpaw 20/20 EP 65/80 EP (-15)
Honeybee 35/40 EP (-5) 110/110 EP
Note: wasn't sure if i should use t1 rogue stats or apprentice stats so just defaulted to apprentice
Honeybee let out a short gasp of surprise as she was driven into the ground. Timberpaw had clearly learned a thing or two already, he'd started off this spar in a similar manner to what she would have done. "Good." She wheezed, then wriggled and shifted her weight in an attempt to escape. Hopefully the young tom didn't think he'd get away with pinning her so easily...
She didn't manage to free herself, but pointedly jabbed a sheathed paw at the tom's side.
Honeybee used duck and twist for -10 ep, dealing -3 damage. Attempt to break pin unsuccessful, still pinned.
Honeybee 25/30 hp 70/80 ep (80 - 10)
Timberpaw 17/20 hp (20 - 3) 65/80 ep
