Timberpaw's Warrior Ceremony

Daystar enjoyed the weather that Leaf-fall brought to the forest. She was sure that there were cats that would miss the heat of Greenleaf, and certainly the abundance of prey too, but the stillness and peace of the season brought a smile to the she-cat's face. What better way to welcome Leaf-fall than by giving an apprentice their warrior name?
“May all cats old enough to run the moor gather beneath the Tallrock for a Clan meeting!” She called from where she stood on the familiar rock and glanced down at her Clanmates below.

Timberpaw flicked his eat. He was laying in a position that his legs pushed slightly away from his body, laying on his side. He blinked his eyes slowly, not wanting to do much today. Out the corner of his eye, he noticed Daystar climbing up the tall rock and he sat up. Waiting for her to call.

Once she did, he padded into the center of the clearing, cats beginning to gather around. He looked up at his leader, wondering his this might be his ceremony.

Hentooth’s ears pricked at Daystar’s call. Hm. Hmm. Sunpaw had vanished… she hadn’t known the tom too well, but still… he was a Clanmate.. but it wasn’t his ceremony. Maybe… just maybe… Timber? Maybe maybe maybe?

The calico poked her head out of the medicine den, fur wild and ungroomed. Timberpaw was there… she… he didn’t look like he wanted anyone to talk to him. She didn’t want to ruin his life more than she already had- alright, yes, she was being melodramatic. Still.

With a sigh, the young medicine cat trotted over to sit at the back of the crowd, far away from her brother. An ear flicked, almost lazily, as she looked up at Daystar. Heh. She looked happy. Maybe it was Timber’s ceremony, then. Eh. Surely Hentooth would’ve heard, wouldn’t she? Or maybe that was something a leader kept under their paw.

Daystar gave the entire crowd a welcoming smile before focusing on the warrior-to-be.
"I'm ecstatic to say that another apprentice will be joining the warriors' den today! Timberpaw, please step forward."

Her command was soft and inviting as she patiently gave the tom a heartbeat or two to pad toward the Tallrock. Once he was done, she continued on with the ceremony.
"I call upon my warrior ancestors to look down upon this apprentice. He has worked hard to learn the ways of your noble code, and I commend him to you as a warrior in return. Timberpaw, do you promise to protect and defend this Clan, even at the cost of your own life?"

Timberpaw's ears perked when the she-cat said she was making an apprentice a warrior, was this really it? As soon as he heard his name, he glanced back, spotting his sister in the crowd, after some hesitation he stepped out in front of the crowd, turning his attention back to his leader. He waited for her to ask the question, the very important question, but a question some cats didn't seem to understand. He took a breath, and gave his answer. "I do."

Daystar gave the tom a nod of approval.
"Then from this moment on, you will be known as Timbersun. The sun that rises and sets upon the moor looks down upon you favorably. WindClan honors your optimism and kindness, and we welcome you as a full warrior."

She smiled as cats began to chant the name of the newly-named warrior, and she leaped off of the Tallrock to join the celebration with a few encouraging yowls of her own.

Hentooth’s eyes widened as Timber stepped forwards. Her brother… her little brother… he was becoming a warrior! Although he wasn’t little anymore, she realized with a jolt. He was more muscular and strong-looking than she… as the chanting started she raised her voice, calling out her brother’s new name. For a moment, she thought she locked eyes with him… and then she turned and slunk back into her den. She didn’t want to talk to him now… not in his happiest moment. 

She rather thought he’d enjoy it better without her.

Or maybe she was being melodramatic.
