Tigerstar jumped up onto the Tall Rock, green eyes taking in the camp once again. The weather was slowly chilling with the careful and slow arrival of Leaf-fall. It was only a matter of time until then and prey started to slow down. He was going to cherish moments like these with the lingering warmth while he could. ""Let all cats old enough to run the moor gather beneath Tall Rock for a clan meeting!

Thistlepaw made his way into the clearing, hearing his father call for a meeting. In truth, he was there out of obligation, just as he was every meeting, rather than curiosity. Although after his moonstone, he couldn't help but rethink a lot of things.
"Keep the cats you care about close. Show that you care about them. Tell them that."
He knew she was right. Leopardwind was sure he hated him, even. And that.... that was never something Thistlepaw wanted.
So looking to his father now, he offered a warm smile. It was a bit of a foreign feature, one that might not have fit on Thistlepaw's face. But Thistlepaw hoped that at least it would be a step in the right direction.
Even if he didn't know what the next step would be.
Now I'm slippin' through the cracks of your cold embrace
It was not often that he heard his father's voice. The voice, something that had meant to be a familiar companion, an echo to every of his movement, had failed to sound to him often. Tigerstar had always been busy with his duties as a leader, and, well, there was little time to spare for his children. Leopardwind did not mind it-- tried not to, anyway. A leader's duties were important... he would demand that he be placed before something so important. Still, the warrior could not hide the hurt that echoed in his heart every time he thought of the tabby. He could not claim to understand him. That alone hurt him.
Leopardwind perked up at the call. It had been a while since the Clan had been called to gather, hadn't it? Well, other than Sunbear and Laurelriver becoming warriors. Could this be a similar occasion? His golden gaze swept the crowd. The familiar sense of missing cats struck him, but he had grown used to it. He could not quell his excitement-- would today be the day one of his siblings finally joined him in the warrior's den? Could it be Viperpaw, or Thistlepaw? The black tom sat down at his usual spot, looking at his father.
Rapidfire flicked her tail and blinked lots, Tigerstar had mentioned to her prior that he wanted this ceremony to be led by both of them. To give her practice in the warrior naming. She was happy to agree to that.
In truth, her apprentice ceremonies were generally laid back and had strayed a bit from the usual naming words that were spoken. For the warrior name she wanted to have practice, it was important she felt to keep tradition of them.
She was grateful to have a good leader who was going to let her practice at this in a shared ceremony that they would be leading together.
She stood by his side proudly remembering his mentoring her even as she was an apprentice to his mentorship.
We gather as a clan to observe the milestone that Thistlepaw has made in training. He has shown his skills and abilities are ready for the next step."
She flicked her tail proudly welcoming Thitlepaw to step forwards.
"I, Rapidfire call upon our warrior ancestors of the stars above to look down for this apprentice. He is ready for the responsibility that comes with warriorhood."
She glanced over to Thistlepaw with a warm smile and nod.
"Thistlepaw? Do you vow to uphold our warrior code? To defend and honor your clan even at the cost of your own life?"

Thistlepaw blinked in surprise as his mentor stood up, taking over the ceremony. Even more surprised as it was his name that had been mentioned.
Stepping forward, he couldn't help but look back to Leopardwind. Maybe for some assurance, maybe for a boost of confidence. He didn't even know why he would need his brother to tell him he was ready to be a warrior. They hardly even hung out anymore.
Maybe he just liked knowing he was there.
With a deep, steadying breath, he looked back to his mentor. "I do."
And then he waited for what would come next.
Now I'm slippin' through the cracks of your cold embrace
"Then by the stars blessing from above I hereby give your warrior name. From this day on you will be known as Thistledown. You have trained well as my apprentice and I am proud of you
She hopped off the rock and over to go congratulate him on his advancement into warrior life.

"Yay Thistledown! Eaglefly cheered. He wondered what prank he could play on the new warrior as he watched the ceremony

Rainpaw blinked watching but saying nothing in her usual observant and quiet nature.

Laurelriver was so excited to see Thistlepaw get his warrior name. She remembered when they spent time together, how Thistlepa- well, now Thistledown now - was trying his best to show himself to her and his siblings more. It was amazing of him to take that step forward, and it just so happened to coincide with him joining her in the warrior's den.
Padding over to the tom, she touched noses with him. "It's about time you got your warrior name," she chuckled, before settling in a more vulnerable warmth. "Congrats, Thistledown. You deserve it."

Thistledown
I once was a man with dignity and grace
Thistledown.
He tested his new name a few times over in his head, before his smile returned to his face. As a kit, he had never really thought about celebrating this moment. But he felt oddly giddy inside. Hearing his Clan call his name, knowing that he had truly earned it. (What he really did to earn it, he didn't know, but he wouldn't think of that right now).
He was about ready to go over to Leopardwind, hoping his brother was still in the crowd, when Laurelriver came up to him, instead. The greeting on his tongue the moment she touched noses with him. He could feel warmth rising to his cheeks, unsure of how to proceed. Since when did cats touch their nose to him like that? He was fairly certain that Quickpaw had been the only cat to do that. And that one ThunderClan apprentice, but he didn't even know that cat's name.
Although he couldn't really say he disliked it, not coming from Laurelriver at least.
Once his brain had stopped buffering, he cleared his throat. He and Leopardwind still had a lot to talk about, but they also had plenty of time to do it. Perhaps it was a conversation that could wait another day, he thought, as his smile returned to his face.
"Thank you. I'm looking forward to being denmates with you, Laurelriver. We should patrol together more often."
