Hoo boy... this was going to be an interesting one. Falconmoon leaped to Tallbranch, the conversation he and his mother had the night before replaying in his head. The camp was still, for the moment. The promise of colder weather was on the morning breeze. Falconmoon heard the first movement of his clanmates in their dens and immediately called for the meeting.
"Let all cats old enough to climb a tree gather beneath the Tallbranch for a clan meeting!"
The first night spent in SkyClan's camp had come and gone. Wolf had risen with the sun, bright eyed and bushy tailed, watching with rapt attentions the way the cats at the entrance organized the dawn patrol. So far, though several cats had eyed him with open suspicion, none had been outright hostile. Many were curious, he could tell, but none had approached him, and until he knew a little more about what he could do, Wolf was satisfied with sitting by the side and watching, and learning.
Every so often, his eyes would dart to the camp entrance again, waiting for the hulking yellow figure of his father to push through the brambles. An entire day had passed since the last time he saw his father. Shouldn't he be back by now? It definitely didn't take a whole day to get to WindClan and back, right? The young tom's tail twitched, his expression growing troubled for just a brief moment before a flash of golden fur did catch his eye, and he snapped his head towards it. It was no Sunfire, however similar the coat color, but nevertheless the cat did bear a resemblance to his father.
Wolf watched the tom, curious. And then he called out an order to gather, and Wolf tilted his head. Did that mean him, too? Wolfstar had welcomed him in, said he'd be given a chance to prove his loyalty... that meant something, surely. Without thinking too hard about it anymore, the dappled tom strode to the edge of the gathering crowd of cats and plopped down next to some cat he didn't know.
The clan gathered, and it was likely the feelings of long faded memories making Falconmoon tense. It was true this was not the same Skyclan under the first Wolfstar, nor under Bloodstar, but he couldn't help but feel tension in his back. He was anticipating outrage, despite everyone seeming calm about the situation. "Wolf, step forward under the Tallbranch." He said with authority, but not unkind. His bright blue eyes scanned the clan, almost in warning to keep their peace, before he landed his gaze back on his nephew.
"You have come to us as an outsider, but you have Skyclan blood in your veins. That makes you one of us. You are at the age where you may be trained as an apprentice under Skyclan law, but you will be given another name and you will leave your old name behind. From today until the day you earn your warrior name, you will be known as Timberpaw and recognized as an apprentice of Skyclan. Your mentor will be me."
Falconmoon dropped from the Tallbranch and landed smoothly in front of his new apprentice. He touched noses with him, his eyes softening as he did. He looked out across the clan, waiting for reactions. "You will accompany me on your first patrol today. I will teach you how to be a Skyclan cat." His eyes didn't leave the clan or the first several moments, but then he looked back at Timberpaw and stepped back from him, giving the rest of the clan room to congratulate him, if they wanted.
Snowpaw blinked when Wolf's name was called. When he was given an apprentice ceremony, he felt sheepish for his suspicion earlier. Wanting to make up for his mistake and apologize, showing good faith and good will toward his new denmate, Snowpaw was among the first to chant.
Wolfstar sat below the tallbranch when Falconmoon called the meeting. They had discussed the new arrival to camp the night before, and now it was time to bring the young tom into the clan. Some of their clanmates might not agree with another outsider coming into their midst... But they would be civil under the leader's watchful gaze.
As for the newly-named Timberpaw, Wolfstar would be watching his training closely. She trusted Falconmoon, of course. Timberpaw seemed eager to prove himself, time to put that to the test.
She would simply ignore the churn of anxiety in her gut that Sunfire had not yet appeared at the camp entrance. Today there was a new apprentice to celebrate.
"Timberpaw! Timberpaw!" Her voice joined those of their gathered clanmates. She would be watching his training progress.

Honeypaw watched the ceremony from near the edge of the crowd, curiosity burning in her blue eyes at the total stranger who her father had called forward. She'd noticed his arrival the day before, though had been too busy with her own duties to approach. Wolf was quickly renamed and it seemed her father had taken an interest in mentoring the younger tom himself. Fair enough, she supposed. "Timberpaw! Timberpaw!" Honeypaw's voice joined with her brother's and other clanmates. The new apprentice was an unknown, but that would change quickly enough.
Mistypaw was fascinated by this young outsider. Who was he? Why was he here? And most importantly, what would they do about his name? They couldn’t have two cats named Wolf! Her question was soon answered. Timberpaw, hmm. Not a bad name. She joined the other cats in their cheer.
