Lykaios"Unbeknownst to them is the presence of the wraith" -T1 Rogue-
•⇜ ⇝•
Lykaios trekked through the longpaw settlement, his gaze flickering about as the dens grew more and more decrepit and the longpaw sightings fewer and farther between. It was as though they'd all packed up and moved away without a word - leaving their homes and even their loudcages to crumble and die. He stared at the hollowed-out beasts as he padded past them, their great black paws flat or completely missing altogether. It was strange, seeing the usually deadly monsters relegated to these empty, lifeless husks.
Dogs, even great ones like Leto, who had wolf blood in their veins, knew better than to venture too close to a loudcage's crushing paws. As such, he avoided them too. His blood, though it contained some of Leto's, was further watered down by whomever his father was. A part of his loathed the weakness such impure blood lent him, but still, he was grateful for the small amounts of divine blood than ran through his body. Now, if only he could focus that divinity towards bringing down game, he'd be happy. Though, if that's what he was hoping for here, Lykaios had a feeling he'd be in for a lot of disappointment. There wasn't much here except for hordes of rodents.
Even now, wandering the abandoned black trail, he could hear their paws and scuffling all around him. Well, if there wasn't going to be any bigger prey, whatever creatures rummaged through the trash would have to do. Lowering his body, Lykaios stared intently ahead, his tail straight out as he crept towards the nearest pile of garbage. Faint squeaks echoed from inside the mangled collection of longpaw items and, with a snarl, the male dove headfirst into the pile, maw wide and salivating
His teeth clamped easily around the warm, wriggling body of a massive rat and, with a grunt of effort, Lykaios dragged the squealing creature from the pile of rubble. It thrashed in his grip until, with a crunch, he bit through its neck, ceasing all struggle. Good. Wagging his tail, he trotted into one of the yards and dropped his catch in the dirt before scraping some fallen leaves over it to keep it safe from other dogs or creatures.

Lykaios"Unbeknownst to them is the presence of the wraith" -T1 Rogue-
•⇜ ⇝•
Once the rat was completely concealed by leaves and bits of dirt and grass, Lykaios turned away, his piercing yellow-green eyes sharp as he scanned the area once more. One measly little rat wouldn't be enough to feed the pack, so he'd have to catch more. He, Lykania, and Lycaon could make do with such a small quarry, but Koryos and Leto needed a lot more meat to survive. Every bit helped, though. So, with a toss of his head, the dusky, golden male trotted towards a nearby metal box. It stank like no other before, but that fact alone was enough to tell him that it was bound to be teeming with more rats.
Ideally, ones that'd have a hard time escaping when surrounded on all sides by metal walls. Licking his jaws, Lykaios made his way oh-so-calmly to the box of rubbish and stared at it as the rats clambered about inside. While good hunting grounds, this place left plenty to be desired. He felt as though something may come around the corner at any moment. An unnerving thought considering the pack was far from him at the moment. Still, Lykaios bundled his legs beneath him and launched himself atop the metal box, his paws thudding loudly on the top, which sent the rats into a panic instantly.
They shrieked below him, pushing and shoving against each other to squeeze out through a small hole at the bottom of the box. Silently, Lykaios waited for the majority of them to flood out before he dropped into the bin and lashed out with claws and teeth, snagging and grasping at each warm body within reach. His claws closed around the bodies of two rats and, once they had fallen still, he turned and snapped his jaws shut around the body of a third, its bones crunching satisfyingly between his jaws.

Louse was heading home, paws moving rapidly as he trotted along the familiar route back. Usually he felt excited when he got to this section of the twoleg place but today he was filled with apprehension, something was off. There was no comfort to be found amongst the rubble or the rusting monster husks. What lingered though was the scent of cat and dog, the latter causing the fur along his spine to prickle. His nose twitched as the tortoishell scented the air, assessing how he should next move. His unease only grew as he realised how fresh both scents were and the fact they were moving towards his home. Maggot was alone, what if they’d already found her? A growl built low in his throat. Hopefully if this was a worst case scenario his sibling had been smart enough to run, she was a lousy fighter, they wouldn’t stand a chance. That would have to change when he ran into them again he decided, the idea of being alone completely made him feel ill. He’d be so bored.
The sound of loud clattering snapped him abruptly from his worries, his amber eyes shifted to where the sound came from narrowing. Whatever had caused it was close. He sniffed again and this time the scent of blood hit the roof of his mouth followed by the cat-dog scent that seemed to have intensified. Somehow, that brought him relief. Clearly they were nowhere near his home, and both of his problems were dealing with one another. Louse’s lips twitched pleased with the outcome. Still, he couldn’t help but feel something was amiss. Against his better judgement, the young rogue’s curiosity won out. He leapt rapidly between several monster husks, until he was on top of a very large monster and could peer over the edge. Dogs were dumb so his vantage point would at least keep him semi safe from the mutt.
The banging continued, and he quickly realised it was coming from some sort of twoleg contraption. He edged closer, paws sliding over the edge of the monster’s back, his eyes wide. The banging seemed to still, the following silence very profound. Should he not have heard howls of pain given the scent of blood. It was odd, really odd. His nape tingled. Several moments passed, and when nothing changed Louse once again, made the impulsive decision to investigate further. With a quick glance around his surroundings, he jumped down from the large monster, landing with a soft thud. The mingling scents that had drawn him before remained, emanating from the maw of the twoleg contraption.
As he inched closer, whatever was in the trap decided to suddenly come alive again. There were several crashes and then it was suddenly in the open. Louse’s pelt stood on end, its size doubling in his shock as a loud hiss left his maw. A golden maned cat stood before him, several fat rats swinging from its jaws. There was no dog in sight and yet… when the tom across from him moved so did the scent of dog. “You smell like dog.” growled Louse, his pelt smoothing quickly as the surprise wore off.

Lykaios"Unbeknownst to them is the presence of the wraith" -T1 Rogue-

The precious blood-scent of his catches permeated the enclosed space and, upon scanning the dim nest for stragglers, an odd smell cut under that of the rats. It was vaguely feline but, at the same time, was nigh impossible to completely discern. Lykaios growled in pleasure as he collected each large rat from the bottom of the metal contraption and, neck straining under the weight of them, leapt back atop the bin, his paws striking firmly on the thin edge. Whatever creature it was that had decided to ruin a perfectly good day, they would not find themselves an easy meal of his catches.
Unless, of course, it intended to turn him into a meal. The though alone was laughable and, as Lykaios settled on the dirt-stained edge of the bin, movement caught his eye. Ah, well then, it was nothing to be concerned with - just a little kitty who'd made the terrible mistake of crossing paths with him. It snarled something at him, but the golden tom paid it no mind as he dropped to the ground, rats still clutched between his jaws. With a wag of his tail, he dropped them at his paws and stared frostily at the feline, heart pounding in his chest. A small part of him wished to rip the thing apart, but he had far more important matters to tend to with what daylight remained.
Still, there was nothing stopping him from having a little fun. Grinning wolfishly, Lykaios darted forward and snapped his jaws at the air beside the sharpclaw's ear, his tongue lolling from his mouth. Then, moving as fast as his paws would allow, he circled the sharpclaw with his tail furiously whipping back and forth in excitement. "Make my day, sharpclaw!" He barked brightly. "I do wish for a change of pace - impress me - go on!" Felines were good for more than what his littermates and mother often assumed. Sometimes, it was far more exciting to work the little creatures into such a frenzy that all they could do was dance in an ever-quickening dance of snapping and clawing.
