Subject: We've Got to Change the World [Training] Wed 21 Aug 2024 - 22:09

Firetreader gazed steadily at Lilypaw as they came to a halt in a small clearing lit by the golden sun burning overhead. Dappled rays of sunlight decorated the green and brown leaf-littered floor and, as he paused for a moment to breath in the scents of the forest, the warm light on his pelt was enough to calm the young warrior somewhat. It was strange, really, to feel so nervous about training his sister, given everything he'd faced already. Things like death or tribulation were a constant part of life. There was no ifs or maybes about it and certainly no way to completely prevent tragedy. This, however, Lilypaw being his first apprentice, was messy. They were brother and sister. Born not just of the same parents, but of the same litter as well. It felt wrong for him to be her mentor despite them being the same age.
He was certain that she felt similarly bothered by it, but perhaps she wouldn't mind him being her teacher...only time would really tell. Besides, there were more pressing things than just training for his sister to worry about now that she was all better. Finally, he was going to tell her everything he knew. Or, everything he suspected, anyway. If he was going to heal SkyClan, heal the rot that had begun to set into the foundation of their very clan, he was going to need all of the help he could get. There was no better cat to confide in than Lilypaw, his own kin. Of course, rebuilding SkyClan from the ground up could wait. Lilypaw was bound to be a bit overwhelmed with everything as is, so he wouldn't put more onto her shoulders just yet. Soon, maybe, but not now.
Twitching his whiskers, Firetreader scented the air curiously, his mouth watering at the taste of squirrel in the air. "How about you show me whatcha got, hm? I'm sure you observed plenty from the medicine den while you were sick, you wanna see what you're capable of before we really get started?" And, by that, he of course meant for her to track down and try to catch something. If possible, he'd like to let Lilypaw build up her confidence by not smothering her and treating her like she'd just turned six moons old.
