Morningpaw's Medicine Cat Apprentice Ceremony

It was early Silverpelt as Morningpaw and Wolfheart had arrived to Mothermouth. It had been quite the exciting travel. Morningpaw was in awe as she observed the new places as they passed them by. However, the stone itself is what took her breath away. It glistened and shined like the moon. Maybe that's why it was named that way. The apprentice looked back, unsure of what to do next. A wave if nervousness washed over the young tortie. What if it was just a dream? Maybe Starclan hadn't even contacted her. But that couldn't explain the she-cat who had spoken to her. The dream had been so livid too. "D-Dad, do you think I really am the next medicine cat? W-What if it was just a crazy, meaningless dream? I don't want t-to insult Starclan or anything but i'm just a bit nervous."

Despite the minimal light of the only partially visible moon, the foggy tendrils of silvery light exuded by the Moonstone shone as brightly as ever. Even with the passage of a season or two, the ancient stone was still Wolfheart remembered. Without fault, despite lifetimes of existence. Morningpaw's apprehensive words caused the rosetted tom to pause, ears moving subtly as he contemplated the young molly's question. "Dreams are given to us for a reason," He mewed, gesturing his daughter to step closer to the immobile stone before the pair, "No matter how small or insignificant they might seem. Have faith."

The she-cat took a deep breath and nodded. Her muzzle formed a small smile as she began to gain more courage thanks to her father's words. The apprentice stepped forward then made herself comfortable in front of the shining rock. Then, she pressed her nose to the cold Moonstone and then began to rapidly drift into a dreamlike state.

The tortoiseshell female awoke in the familiar starry plains. Her gaze then drifted over to a figure slowly manifesting themselves in front of her. She quickly recognized the starry cat as Honeydrop, the she-cat who had appeared to her in the dream. The golden she-cat smiled warmly before asking, "Morningpaw, are you ready to accept the role of the Shadowclan medicine cat?" Morningpaw stood up straight and confidently said, "Yes!". This was what she truly wanted.

"It has been settled." the older she-cat said before stepping a few paces back. "My fellow Starclan cats, hear my call! Morningpaw has chosen the gracious path of the medicine cat. Grant her the wisdom and guidance of the many cats before her. Let her help and serve not only her clan, but Starclan as well. Let her name be reborn with the blessing of Starclan. Now, I present Shadowclan with their new Medicine cat, Morningpaw. Let Starclan help you and guide you."

Morningpaw shivered slightly when the ceremony had ended. She was bound by those words. She will never disobey Starclan and will try her hardest to make sure her clan is secure and healthy. The new medicine cat turned to look at Honeydrop and nodded her head as a thank you. "I seek that you will do well as the medicine cat. Always look over the clan and seek us with your every concern. May Starclan guide your every step!" Honeydrop meowed as everything around Morningpaw began to fade and she was plunged into darkness.

The she-cat awoke and stood up. She looked at her father with bright eyes. Her experience with becoming Shadowclan's medicine cat really caused her to feel pure happiness. This was meant for her! She then began to follow Wolfheart home.
