To her absolute, complete horror, Creampaw was made to be in the same patrol as the creep whose words from their kithood still haunted her. Why did the Stars have to curse her this way? She didn't do anything wrong to deserve the wrath of anyone, so why was she being punished like this? Just the mere sight of Falconpaw made chills run down her spine. Each glance he sent her way made her ears twitch with discomfort. He wouldn't be starring at her ears again, would he?
Since she was unable to skip out on this patrol without receiving further punishment, a new plan was crafted. Thick leaves and long grass blades weaved messily together with the help of twigs, feathers and cobwebs was now nestled innocently on top of the she-cat's head, concealing her curled ears perfectly along with casting a shadow down her face to cover her eyes. She wasn't about to let Falconpaw get what he wanted so easily! The contraption was bulky and ugly on her head, but she couldn't care less. She'd groom herself after she ended the patrol with this weirdo.
The cream-and-white she offered no greeting to the ginger tom as she padded up to meet him at the Camp's entrance. She pushed past to exit the camp, the fur along her back bristling with nervousness as she quickened her pace while passing by Falconpaw. Her tail lashed nervously behind her. He... he wouldn't try to touch her tail, would he?

Falconpaw tried not to stare or even look Creampaw’s way too much. He really, really did. He didn’t want to deal with another round of ear-bleeding screams from her when he didn’t even do anything wrong in the first place. But he just… couldn’t help it. Falconpaw looked her way as she set off out of camp and his eyes lingered on the bulky weaving of debris that sat atop her head. He was so dumbfounded by the sight of it that, for a moment, he forgot he was meant to follow after. Then he shook his paws out and padded along with a sigh. What a fun patrol this would be.
”Uhm,” Falconpaw started once they were out of camp proper. He jogged ahead a bit to catch up to Creampaw’s shoulder, though he dragged his eyes away from her messy crown and looked out toward the horizon before he fell in step. ”What’s with the whole...” he trailed off, searching for words, then settled for just gesturing toward his head with a paw. ”What’s with that?”
Despite her smart contraption and her clear intention of not wanting Falconpaw to gwak at her, she could still feel his gaze slip to her occasionally. Was there a gap in her hat? Was that why he was still staring? Horror ran through her in a shiver and she quickened her pace. To no luck, as the tom was quick to catch up with her. Could he not tell she did not want to engage in any form of interaction with him? At this point, she was pretty sure he was trying to get under her skin. What other explanation was there to his behavior? She really should report his actions to Tigerstar, it seemed like the only way to get him away from her.
A small growl rumbled in her throat as Falconpaw spoke. He really did have no sense in that head of his. In a very taunt voice that rang with anger, and without sparing him so much a glance, she answered, "It's to stop weirdos like you from seeing my ears."

Creampaw’s growl made his ears flatten, but Falconpaw didn’t slow his pace. It wasn’t until she snapped at them that he stalled for a few beats, nearly tripping over his paws with his surprise. He watched her go on ahead for about a few tail-lengths before jogging to catch up. He fell in closer to her flank this time rather than daring to walk shoulder-to-shoulder with her again. Falconpaw’s ears were pinned and his eyes were narrowed with annoyance. ”Stars, Creampaw, come off it already,” he complained. ”Listen, I don’t care about your ears, alright? Just take the stupid thing off. I want to focus on this patrol instead of…” whatever’s wrong with you felt like the wrong thing to say. Falconpaw briefly bit his tongue and then finished, ”...whatever that thing is. Can’t we just move on?”
Oh, so now he wanted to play reasonable and ask her to get over it? The very words made her seethe. Did he think she was throwing an tantrum or something? This was a perfectly reasonable response to his creepiness! And yet, she couldn't help the shame that rippled through her pelt at his exasperated tone. Say he really didn't care about her ears, and she was just making a fool of herself? But why would he not care? She was beautiful enough that any cat would care! Was he calling her ugly?
With a reluctant sniff, she pulled the contraption off her ears, flinging it aside and shaking her head a few times. She kept her chin up, though, proud despite the few leaves that still clung stubbornly to the top of her head. Biting back several insults and cries alike, Creampaw forced out a "You're so mean" before quickening her pace and rushing ahead again.

Falconpaw thought he’d actually made some sort of progress when Creampaw began to pull off her crown of degree. Even though she was sniffling and looked ready to tear his ears from his head, and his words hadn’t exactly been kind, he still thought he might of convinced her of something. And really, earning a you’re so mean was better than earning threats of tattling to his father. Again, Falconpaw watched Creampaw march swiftly ahead, stalled where he stood. ”Sorry…?” He murmured, mostly to himself, before shaking his head. Falconpaw forced his legs back into motion and raised his voice out of a mutter. ”Alright, Creampaw, I’m sorry. Just--look, I don’t want to be weird or anything, okay?” Moonpaw’s words rang in his head again. Why couldn’t he ever get her out of his head? ”You don’t want me to look at your ears, I won’t. This doesn’t have to be a whole--thing. I’m not trying to be mean, alright? I’m sorry.”
