Nectarflower
Rank: T5 Permaqueen

Nectarflower swept through the camp that morning and gathered all of her kits with a cheerful smile on her face. She was always happy to spend time with her precious children, but this wasn't just any outing. Today, she'd finally be taking them to the flower fields to teach them all about her favorite past-time, weaving flowers. It wasn't grand or exciting, but she sincerely hoped they would enjoy it regardless. Poor Deerkit still wasn't an apprentice, but Nectarflower would bring her someday as well and teach her too if she was interested.

"Come along, my darlings! We're nearly there!" Today was also special because it was her first time returning to the flower fields since well before she and Larchbreeze had been attacked, so it was a relief to finally see it again. She'd not been well enough to make the long walk, but that wouldn't be stopping her any longer! Besides, with all of the kits graduating to the apprentice's den, she was bound to have plenty of time to herself now.

Moonpaw
Rank: Apprentice

Moonpaw was happy to follow Nectarflower when she sought her out with tales of something 'fun' planned. Knowing her mother, though, it'd be pretty tame, so Moonpaw didn't bother getting her hopes up for anything terribly thrilling. Wispy tail dragging through the long grasses behind her, she put on as excited a smile as she could and followed in Nectarflower's pawsteps. "we're coming mamma!" Despite her crooked leg, Nectarflower moved as though certain of each step on the rolling moor. Which, in all honesty, she probably was.

With an exasperated smile, Moonpaw looked back at her littermates - the ones who'd come - and rolled her eyes playfully. She could tell where they were going already. Any cat who knew Nectarflower at all knew that she was taking them to the flower fields. She only talked about it all of the time. What they would do there, though, was a mystery to the silver apprentice. She yawned, green eyes tired, and slowed somewhat, certain that her mother wouldn't leave her behind. It was better than training, but did they really have to walk so far?

Cloudjumper had been made a warrior just days ago, and with her vigil over and having had the chance to get some much-needed sleep, she was quick to follow Nectarflower and her siblings from camp. She had an idea of where their mother was taking them of course, though Cloudjumper could not fathom why. Moonpaw seemed unimpressed to Cloudjumper's eye, and the newly-named warrior nudged her sister, though shared the mildly exasperated glance. This wasn't a hunting patrol, given that Nectarflower's leg would probably hinder her from that, but Cloudjumper could see little other use for the flower fields. Well, maybe it had a use for Hemlockfox... But he wasn't here, and they were certainly no medicine cats.

"Just wanted a change of scenery, mom?" She asked finally, glancing around the fields warily. No predator would dare attack such a patrol, but if one was foolish enough to try, the newly-named warrior was ready and willing to defend her family.

SUNPAW."you keep begging for forgiveness, but  you  don't  think  you've  done  wrong."    she/her - windclan app - nectar x kestrel.
Sunpaw had protested as Nectarflower roused her - unlike her namesake, she was not an early riser. It was one thing she often worried would make her seem lazy to any prying eyes, but she knew she more than made up for it with her late night training and hunting sessions. And tired as she was, she couldn't say no to her mom. She especially couldn't say no to a day spent with her littermates. It was hard to get all of them in the same place since almost all of them had left the nursery. Long training sessions meant Sunpaw barely ever saw her family.

The small tortoiseshell padded along beside her mother, casting occasional glances back at the rest of her siblings. Part of her wished they'd join her up here, but she'd talk to them when they got to their destination. Right now, she needed to keep a careful eye on Nectarflower. "Mama, you can take it easy, y'know. You need to be careful with your leg the way it is. Nobody's in a hurry to get to the -" Sunpaw paused just before she said flower fields. Even though practically everyone knew where they were going without the queen saying it, she didn't want to let on. She wanted to act surprised for her mom. "Er, to wherever we're going!"

But Sunpaw could see the vibrant, colorful fields just over the next hill. "Oh, mom, the flower fields!" She exclaimed with feigned surprise. As she bumped her head affectionately into Nectarflower's shoulder, she bit back a cringe. She was not a good actor, but she was at least truthful in her excitement. She loved the fields! Mostly because Nectarflower loved them, but that was besides the point. It held valuable herbs for the Clan, many useful hunting spots, and a nice solace from her duties (on the few occasions she felt she earned a break). Somewhere that was both practical and beautiful would have to hold a special place in Sunpaw's heart. The apprentice fought the urge to run ahead and dive into the fields. She needed to stay with mama, in case she hurt herself.

As they neared, Sunpaw looked back at the rest of the family. Why was Moonpaw lagging behind? And Cloudjumper. But she noticed the way Cloudjumper looked around the fields, and surveyed them the same. It seemed safe. And anyway, the two of them could defend their family just fine. When she turned back, she realized Moonpaw had not made much progress, and sighed. "Come on, slowpoke!"

Snakepaw kept pace with his mother and his sisters. He wasn't as silent and graceful as he wanted to be yet; his untried paws whispered an ache that began the very first day he'd become an apprentice. Leopardwind was a strict mentor, something the young tom appreciated even if his still kitten-soft pawpads did not. He had a hunch as to where they were heading; somewhere he knew from his mentor as a good place to catch mice or find herbs, but not much else. His mother loved flowers though, that much was obvious, and so their little outing felt less like a patrol and more like sightseeing. Although it didn't feel like training, the ghostly tom had figured out that valuable information could be found anywhere, even in experiences that seemed unimportant at the time. Any and all information was worth storing away.

He smelled the flowers before he saw them, their many scents floating in the breeze along with the plentiful numbers of butterflies and bees. Hm. This wasn't too bad of a scene. Perhaps he shared more of his mother's aesthetic tastes than he thought. Still, he found himself mirroring Cloudjumper's watchful gaze. With one ear still pointed towards Nectarflower, he let his eyes float where they found the most interest.

Nectarflower
Rank: T5 Permaqueen

Nectarflower craned her neck to look back as Cloudjumper spoke, her green eyes twinkling. A change of scenery was one way to put it, but really, she just wanted to spend some time with her kits. Or, at least, the one's who's duties hadn't gotten in the way of their outing. "You could say that." She meowed cryptically, a coy twist to her mouth. "Must I have a reason to want to hang out with my precious kits?" And though it was sweet of Sunpaw to worry, there was truly nothing to be concerned about. She could handle a silly, little walk!

Her face turned quickly turned up in a grin, though, at Sunpaw's exclamation, though, and she nodded, tail lashing with pure, unbridled, joy. "That's right! It's always been one of my favorite places to visit! I used to come here every day, but it's been a little while, actually." Humming, Nectarflower swung her head from left to right, her eyes narrowed against the bright sun. Where, in the name of StarClan, was it? Had it really been so long that she couldn't find her little garden? "Oh!" There it was. Tail curling, the queen gestured for everyone to follow, and descended the hill.

She stopped just a tail-length from a partially overgrown ring of solid white flowers and turned around to face her kits. "We're here!" It was nothing terribly special to them, probably, but this was where she wanted to teach her kits how to weave flowers. It was a fun pastime that she was extremely fond of - even before her retirement. "I'd like to show you all how I make little bundles of flowers! I've been doing it since I was a kit, but it's okay if you aren't interested! We can still just sunbathe and catch up?"

Moonpaw
Rank: Apprentice

Moonpaw started as a shoulder bumped into hers and looked up, somewhat put off by whichever of her littermates had suddenly forgotten how to walk straight. Though, at the sight of Cloudjumper looking down at her with a similar expression on her face, she couldn't help but chuckle. That's right. None of them really knew what their mother was up to, so at least they were all just as confused. The flower field was pretty enough, but given Nectarflower's condition, she seriously doubted there would be any hunting or sparring today. Or any day, really.

Cloudjumper and the rest padded dutifully after Nectarflower and, though not truly annoyed, Moonpaw groaned as Sunpaw called out for her to hurry up. "i'm comin'!" She yelled, ears twisted back. "keep ya fur on." Sighing, the apprentice let loose a single lash of her wispy tail and turned to Snakepaw, who was taking this business far too seriously. "oh loosen up, will ya? ain't nothin' gonna get us." She purred teasingly before picking up the pace.

For a cat with a messed up leg, Nectarflower sure was moving! Puffing, Moonpaw hurried after Nectarflower and their siblings and skidded to a halt, flattening flowers and creating little scores in the earth. Nectarflower was talking, something about flowers and such, but Moonpaw was hardly listening. With a flick of her ear, she shrugged and looked around. "sounds great momma."

"Of course not, mom." Cloudjumper mewed, whiskers twitching, of course, Cloudjumper would always be happy to spend time with her mother. And a walk was nice, though the lithe calico still found herself alert for potential danger. Nectarflower was a queen, as well as their mother. Cloudjumper would keep her safe.

"How's training going, Snakepaw?" Perhaps the sibling she'd spent the least amount of time with, but Snakepaw had been apprenticed to Leopardwind. Who was a good warrior. He and Cloudjumper shared the same drive to do better, the same determination and ambition to improve. If there was any cat in the clan that Cloudjumper knew she could trust with training one of her own family members, it was the black tom.

Cloudjumper's focus returned to Nectarflower however, and she blinked down at the patch of flowers their mother had led them to. "Flower bundles? Why not? Could be nice to liven up our nests with something." She mewed, lifting a paw and lightly touching one of the many flowers strewn in front of her.
