Turning Over Many, Many Leaves {open/ MC help topic}

Sageroot had to have been sent by StarClan. Asking apprentices to help her out around the Medicine Den was going to be such a huge help. Despite how often Sleepycloud journeyed into the forest to match and collect herbs, everything at home was much more challenging than she would have liked. Clearing out the herbs that were no longer good, reorganizing in the cracks of the walls, fresh moss yet to be stored away...her leg ached at the thought of more movement.

She lingered by the pile of herbs she and Hopepaw had collected earlier that day. Of course, she needed to replace the poultice on her leg. Through the meager knowledge she had learned, Sleepycloud still managed to put together some system for her leg. Marigold is a significant helper, stopping infection and soothing her leg. Stinging nettle had helped, too. It needed to be doused in water before being used. Sleepycloud learned that the hard way.

Separating what she needed for her leg from the pile of herbs, the she-cat bundled it up into a rhubarb leaf and set it aside near her nest. The badger pelt was tucked over the moss, then under the nest to not take up most of the nest space. Footsteps at the front of the den caught Sleepycloud's attention, and the medicine cat apprentice greeted the cat with a purr. "Welcome in."

"Well, let's see." The she-cat turned towards the pile of leaves. "I apologize if this is a tedious task to you, but it's better to have more eyes looking over everything..." She beckoned the apprentice over with her tail, directing her attention to an assortment of leaves, herbs, berries, and the like. "I need help matching these to existing herbs in our stores." She waved a paw towards the crevices in the wall where herbs were stored. "...There are also a few up high that I can't reach right now, so I may need some help with those." Sleepycloud laughed sheepishly. "Ready?"

And they began. Thankfully, Sleepycloud had started to learn a few things over the past many sunrises. More specifically, she had tried to distinguish very similar herbs, studying the minor differences closely. After a few long working moments, the Medicine Cat Apprentice spoke up. "How is training, Adderpaw? Is everything alright?" Any cat with Sweetheart as a mentor had to be going through it. The hazy memory of the other cat's callous remarks towards her dead mate always had Sleepycloud seething. But, having to learn from her? Stars. Sleepycloud would have wanted to flay the warrior just as she had the badger whose pelt lined her nest.
