The cream and orange tabby kit watched the maggots squirm within the mouse he had stolen and hidden beside the nursery, thinking that it looked just ripe enough to leave in the warriors den. He had been yelled at earlier for just trying to help out.

His frown remained even as he imagined the horror that warrior would have on her face after finding it. That would send a warning not to disrespect a deputy's kit again.

Palekit was obviously bored again. The sunlight filtered through the trees above, dappling her pelt with warmth as she strolled out of the nursery. Her golden eyes watched for her siblings, tired of playing with the tails of queens. She craved excitement. A glimpse of orange caught her eye as she came to the edge of the nursery. A sibling worth playing with! Peatkit didn't talk very much, but that was okay. She just enjoyed being around him. "Hey! Watcha doing-" Abruptly, Palekit's voice stopped as she laid eyes on the maggot-ridden mouse.

Though slightly disgusted by the sight, Palekit simply cocked her head at her brother with a confused look on her face, as if to say 'why?'. She was completely baffled, and for good reason. Palekit had never seen a warrior waste food before, but maybe the clan had caught too much and Peatkit had simply taken this mouse to experiment with? She would give him a chance to explain in his own way before she threw the disgusting thing into the forest where it belonged.
