Flirt & Fight! (C)

Lighttail lounged in a sunray near the warriors’ den, purring contentedly. She hadn’t really had the opportunity to sunbathe as a ShadowClan cat, so now it seemed she was making up for lost time whenever she wasn’t busy. Her purr turned to a trill as she saw her mate approaching.

“Hey Stoat, wanna spar?” she mewed, tail flicking.

For the first few moons following his mate's arrival to Skyclan, Stoatclaw had given her space enough to get herself acquainted with her new clanmates. He had feared being by her side constantly would send the message that he didn't trust her around his clanmates, but in reality just being in her presence felt like a gift from Starclan. Today, he didn't have that reservation. As he padded toward the sunbathing molly Stoatclaw couldn't keep his tail from vibrating at a rapid pace. That purr, her beautiful voice, no matter how much time he spent with her she always kept his heart racing. "I wouldn't mind a spar! Just don't get too upset when I beat you, 'kay?" As far as he could remember, Lighttail was exceptionally deft. Stoatclaw knew she'd be the victor, but a little bit of competitive banter never hurt anyone. Lowering himself into a defensive stance, the tom shot his mate a challenging glance. "After you."

Lighttail wasted no time in launching herself onto her mate’s back… or so she intended. However, he’d evidently mentally calculated her jump in advance because she ended up falling behind him, at least managing to end up on her feet.

Lighttail's opener was almost too perfectly choreographed, giving the tom enough time to dodge by taking a quick step toward her. She soared above him, but the time to counterattack was missed. He wouldn't feel good about swiping her out of the air anyway. Instead, he rushed at his mate and bit at her, missing his mark just narrowly.

Lighttail purred in amusement, adrenaline pounding as she whipped around to playfully grab at the side of Stoatclaw’s face. She gripped his cheek in her mouth, whispering “Gotcha!” around a mouthful of fur.

Stoatclaw couldn't help but chuckle as Lighttail nibbled at his cheek. The tom responded by batting at her side lightly. "Got you too!" He purred back. The tom pushed away from her, resetting their positions. His whiskers twitched in amusement, a question finding its way out of his mouth. "Did I taste good?"

Lighttail had a mouthful of fur now, but with her level of fluff she was no stranger to hairballs anyway. She giggled, face flushing, as her mate tapped her side. “We’re even so far,” she mewed. Then, in response to his previous question, “Delicious.” Lighttail had finally found her soulmate.

Suddenly, she darted around to grab his tail, only to just miss it! “Nice reflexes,” she purred.

A smile found its way to the tom's face, but before he could continue flirting with his mate she began to dash at him. What was the fun in that? Stoatclaw pushed down his disappointment just in time to yank his tail away from Lighttail, barely dodging her snapping teeth. He was quick to counter the molly, pouncing on her back and wrapping his paws around her. "Looks like someone got caught, again! Do you submit?" Stoatclaw's tail lashed wildly in the air. He was doing surprisingly well in this spar, was she going easy on him?

Lighttail purred. “Never,” she mewed. “I never surrender! But for you, babe? Maybe I’ll make an exception…” She twisted her head around to lick his cheek. “What do you think our younger selves would think if they could see us now? I think Lightpaw would be proud.”
