Silence settled over the clearing. The light of the setting sun slowly losing its color as the sun slowly disappeared over the hills. Despite New-Leaf being in full swing not even the bugs and birds sung in the still evening. Tigerstar sat off to the side of the silent camp, no sounds escaping the grieving tom. So many names.. so many faces gone in no time at all. It felt like he blinked an everyone he saw on a daily bases just disappeared.. Up to the stars..
Tigerstar heaved out a heavy and shaky sigh. Grief gripping his heart, sharp claws digging in and drawing blood. Was it like this all of the time? Was he doomed to out live his clan? To watch faces come in go, and in batches sometimes? The striped tom slumped to the ground, burying his face into his paws, trying his hardest to not break. He needed to be strong for his clan. he couldn't do this right now.
"Tigerstar?" Eveningmoon's words were muffled, a rabbit's leg in her mouth - the rest of the prey dragging next to her as she awkwardly pulled it towards the leader. She...She hated this - it reminded her of the same grief that had gripped the Clan when they had arrived at the lake and she had been powerless to do anything then either. She had tried to focus on hunting, to keep the Clan fed and it had only done so much and it was happening again and...
She dropped the rabbit, nosing it towards the leader with a sheepish look. "I thought...Um, you should eat. A-And I was thinking we could share?" she meowed, shifting back and forth. She wasn't sure what to say. It wasn't like she could compare to Sootstorm or the others who had been lost - she wasn't all that great of a warrior but... She was still here, wasn't she? That counted for something. She sat down, staring down at the rabbit between the two of them. "...I don't think any of us want to be alone right now."

No sooner had she rejoined the clan that it seemed Windclan warriors slipped away from them. The trend she had thought left behind returning. Brackenwing sat in silence, contemplative gaze lifted to the darkening sky when a voice broke the silence. Glancing over, she caught Tigerstar sitting at the edge of camp, a warrior that Brackenwing did not recognize by name imploring him to eat.
"She is right." Brackenwing spoke up softly, "Sorry - I don't recall your name." She added apologetically to the young she-cat. The clan was full of more unfamiliar faces than familiar ones, it seemed. But to Brackenwing they seemed to care about each other, and that was what mattered.
