Ankle Biter may only be used once per cat, and must wear off before it can be used by another cat.

Many training sessions had gone on the last few days, some back to back and it was making Virtue's ankles grow weary. Today he would be using a real predator for the older cats with him tonight, not willing to sacrifice the preciously tender skin that was sure to star scarring if he let any more kits take a bite out of him. The target? A fox that had been sniffing around ShadowClan's marshlands lately. "I'll get the beasts attention; once it's got it's sights on you, attempt to vanish within the nearby shadows. Even if it catches you, you have Ankle Bite at your disposal. On my count... One... Two... Three!" Bolting from the newleaf brush, Virtue was immediately locked into combat with the brown eyes of the fox, it's brown muzzle curled upwards in a vicious snarl.

It was just unfortunate that he would be taking the first attack as he tried to keep its eyes trained on him.

It didn't matter why the cat hadn't stuck first; the fox would do it for him.

Sagefeather willingly followed virtue into the marshes, but hiding his apprehension about purposely seeking out a fight wasn't easy for him. He had stiff movements, a slightly arched back and his ears were airplaned outward when they weren't pinned back. He honestly desperately hoped the fox just wouldn't be around today, but of course it was. He took a deep breath, not caring who noticed or heard, before he followed Virtue's instructions. He made the attempt to disappear into the shadows, but the scent of blood from the rogue friend certainly made him feel guilty about doing so.

Sagefeather used Shadowstep. It was [Successful!] -10SP

Hidden in the darkness, Sagefeather watched, wondering if Nettlepaw would manage to pull it off as well. If not, he was more than willing to take the fox out at the ankles.

Nettlepaw was yet to have much luck with mastering the Nomads’ moves, though he hadn’t attempted them much as a kit. He should be a warrior, but Leopardstar and Sablestrike with their obvious bias couldn’t see it. It was a bitter thought, but Nettlepaw knew he would make a far better warrior than Lilypaw , if only they knew it too. The white tom trotted alongside his patrol mates, his steps of their usual bouncy caliber. Usually, he would have started nattering to Virtue, but with a fox waiting for them his chatty mood was killed. He wasn’t scared though, he’d taken on a porcupine before and other woodland hunters. A fox? Nothing to worry about in his eyes.

As virtue had said there was definitely a fox waiting for them. It fixed them with amber eyes, and quickly the tabby tom laid out instructions for them to follow. Nettlepaw nodded earnestly, his eyes went to find Sagefeather, but the tom had already disappeared. Of course Mr Perfect, can also do that perfectly! Nettlepaw hurriedly looked around for somewhere to hide, but he found nothing. There was a loud snap and the fox’s jaws closed around Virture. Thankfully it hadn’t gone for him, but then to the fluffy apprentice’s horror, it is amber eyes slid to him. Now he’d done it.

A smaller, much weaker looking cat caught the fiery gaze of the fox. Abandoning the hopeless fight with the silver one, she bolted right for the tiny head of the white bob-tailed tom.

Fox used Iron Bite, dealing 17 damage and costing 30 SP.


One of the three cats disappeared into the shadows, sending a chill up Virtue's spine when amber eyes no longer locked with his green one: all its attention was set on Nettlepaw now. "Aim for the ankles! Quickly!" He yowled out, claws lashing out at the fox as it bolted past him and after the apprentice.

But as its jaws opened wide to crush the apprentice, Virtue stepped in the way just in time for teeth to sink into his shoulder. He may need to visit ShadowClan's medicine cat after this one.

Sagefeather saw what was happening, eyes widening when he saw that Nettlepaw had failed to hide and... He wasn't about to wait and observe any further. Sagefeather sprung from the shadows, as bizarre as flames bursting forth from blackness. His teeth landed on the hock of the fox, hoping he'd placed them where those grizzly tendons were located.

"Nettlepaw! Now!" Sagefeather yowled, now fearing for Virtue's safety. His fur had puffed out to it's max, but it would do little to save him if the fox decided to take a chunk out of him instead.
