Bright pink nostrils opened and closed as the sandy warrior scented the air, taking note of the fluttering of nearby wings and the squeak that echoed within the stone tunnel not too far away. Out of the two, he chose to track down the bird rather than to get stuck within some unknown tunnel that reeked of scents he couldn't clearly identify.

Parting from the patrol, he found a tree that housed the nest of a magpie nest; it wasn't hard to spot when it was made of a ball of twigs on a bare branch. Muscles rippled beneath his straw-like fur as he crouched low, springing upwards with claws latching onto the nearest branch, reaching out just in time for his jaws to audibly snap around black and white wings, falling to the ground with a thud as he dispatched his catch.

Noting that Vinecrawler had the bird, Sageroot followed the squeaking sound into the mouth of the tunnel. There was no sign of rain today, and Sageroot was certainly experienced enough to be allowed in. Her sensitive ears pinpointed the scuffling of a small creature and she padded into the dark.

Rodent roll summoned a predator! Somehow I saw that coming.

What she hadn’t expected was for the scuffling to be that of a weasel. With her lacking sense of smell, Sageroot couldn’t tell the difference. She yowled in pain as the small creature sank its teeth into her face.

Weasel used Gripping Bite, dealing 7 damage and using 15 stamina.

Now there was normalcy taking form within ThunderClan again, Silverdusk found themselves enjoying hunting. It wasn't a task to keep her from going insane, and when paired with the good company of this patrol it was very pleasant. As they reached the stony hollow Vinecrawler and Sageroot split off, and naturally the silver warrior was more inclined to stick with the sandy tom, especially with the claustrophobic and unnatural nature of the stony hollow itself. Vinecrawler took down a large magpie, and while his landing may not have been perfect, the catch itself was excellent. Silverdusk chirruped in appreciation, but before they could offer much more in praise a shrill and pained yowl cut through the serenity. Her eyes widened, at the sound, quickly identifying that it came from the deputy, who was now in the stony hollow.

Stomaching their distaste for the tunnel, as they were certain that Vinecrawler detested it even more than she did, the she-cat crouched awkwardly, neck bent, and shuffled into the darkness. It took several heartbeats for their eyesight to adjust, but when she saw the situation the deputy was in they let out a fearsome ground. Manoeuvrability was not on her side, but using the room they had, Silverdusk sprang forward, slamming a large paw on the weasel before chomping down hard, trying to pull it free of Sageroot's face. "Need a paw?" they mewed around the creature, trying for some light handed banter despite the predicament.

Ravenloft followed behind the patrol, dark tail twitching back and forth. It was nice to get out in the sunshine, and the day was promising to be beautiful. Up ahead, some birds scattered as Vinecrawler made a catch, and Ravenloft startled as the sounds of Sageroot and Silverdusk scuffling with a mink caught her attention. Her eyes widened in alarm, but it seemed like the two had the creature sorted, so the young warrior wasn't going to intervene.

Cutting sideways into the trees, she spotted a sparrow flitting around in the grass. She dropped to her belly, creeping forward, and then sprang from the undergrowth, capturing it between her paws. One swift snap ended its struggling, and then she turned and trotted back in the direction of the patrol.

A yowl was heard before Vinecrawler had even known the weasel was present, paws bounding back to his patrol to help both ThunderClan's and Silverdusk. Though they both seemed to have it under control, a third set of paws wouldn't hurt.

The bird dropped from his mouth as his jaw opened wide, clamping down on the neck of the elongated rat. "Is everyone alright?" Comfortable that both Sageroot and Silderdusk knew the feral tongue, he spoke to them in it as though it were their every day language, his eyes watching the weasel in case it decided today was not its day of death.

Sageroot stared at the weasel for a moment before responding, ”Thank you, both of you, for your assistance.” She reached a paw up to her face, wincing as she touched the blood welling from tiny wounds. Reverting back to her native language, she looked to the younger warriors. “You two can keep hunting,” she mewed. “I’m going to try to clean myself up a bit and I’ll rejoin you soon.” She licked a paw and swiped it over the wound, wincing again.

Weasel is dead. Sageroot is cleaning her wound and will return to hunting next time it’s her turn in the posting order.

"The weasel did not get me." confirmed Silverdusk. She spared an emphatic glance at Sageroot, but they trusted the deputy they were alright, and she was eager to resume hunting. Away from the confines of the dreadful twoleg cave, the molly scented the air for prey. Thou she didn't have to try hard in that forte, a mouse suddenly shot out of the stony hollow, and reflexively she shot out a paw, impaling the mouse on their claws. Silverdusk chuffed happily, and promptly buried the rodent.
