The chance to take her own apprentice out into the territory seemed like something that should not have been as rare as it was. Between the journey to the lake, going missing, the chaos that had ensued after Ploverpaw's return... Wolfstar had had enough, quite frankly. It was long past time that she try to instill some sort of normalcy, and after so much heartache lately she was simply determined to spend time with her clanmates. Especially the family and apprentice that she had, for lack of any other word, neglected in the wake of so much else.
She should have taken Ploverpaw aside well before now, she knew. Especially after Ploverpaw had been missing for so long.
"Been a long few seasons, hasn't it?" Stars, did that feel like an understatement. "Ploverpaw... I'm sorry I haven't been paying as much attention as I should have. As your mentor, but as family, too."
