a silent shadow[o]

lightningkit watched the warriors come and go but she was always bored, she tumble backwards rolling down and landing in a heap. she shook herself off before watching out the entrance again for a moment she thought she saw a kit standing atop the camp. but when she looked again the, kit was gone, she brushed it off before looking around the camp. she loved it here but she had seen the kit before she just didn't know where. she sat below willow branch before catching the kit again but before she could tell anyone they were gone she stared where the kit had been standing. she padded away from there and stared to the sky "who is she?" before padding towards clovermottle "clovermottle i saw a kit standing above camp staring at everyone"

Since adopting Lightningkit, Clovermottle had quickly learnt that the young she-cat had a wild imagination. While she cared for the kit and all her quirks it wasn't something she wanted to entertain, who knew where it would take her as an apprentice or warrior. She needed to be focused, not seeing non existent kits. It also meant she had to keep a very close eye in particular on her. The queen sat in the sun, paying rapt attention to the tabby kit, watching her tumble and race around with a bemused smile on her maw. Quickly though, Lightningkit was approaching her, a confused look on her adopted daughter's maw. "What's wrong little one?" she meowed leaning forward to press her nose in greeting to Lighningkit's forehead. She shuffled slightly making room for the kit beside her and listened. A sigh left the tortoiseshell's maw, unsurprisingly the kit's imagination had been getting ahead of her again. "Lightningkit," mewed Clovermottle sternly "We've talked about this. There is no magic kit in camp, she's not real. Good warriors don't have their head in the clouds, they're focused, ready for anything." she swatted Lightningkit gently over the ears, giggling as she eased off remprimanding her "Now, if you'd been paying attention you'd have seen my blow coming. Why don't you go play with some real kits, poppet?"

"but she's real see!"lightningkit pointed her tail towards past the river, a small kit stood on the other side staring back eyes wide before running away. "i told you she was real!" lightning kit nuzzled her mother "now do you belive she's not real?" she stood up and padded away watching the area where the kit had been.

Clovemottle's yellow eyes followed the direction of Lightningkit's tail, her frown returning. As expected there was nothing. "No. I don't see it." she mewed standing "There is nothing there, should I be worried, Lightningkit?" Was the kitten she'd taken in seeing things? The tabby seemed so adamant that there'd been somewhere there. "Do I need to take you to Littlesplash? My senses are much keener than yours and I can assure you there is no one there." The queen's nostrils narrowed as she sucked in a breath. She prayed to StarClan that it was just the kit's imagination, no one should lead a life of tortured visons, struggling to dissert reality from fictions distorted by their own senses. "If you are seeing things that aren't there we will have to go to Littlesplash. Warriors need to always be fully present, visions of things that aren't real -like the kit you're seeing- can be dangerous in some situations, and they may turn out to be something not nice. So no more of these games -that is if they're games- I don't like them." Clovermottle flicked her tail over Lightningkit's back "Come, let's play something else." she mewed padding closer to the nursery.

"you mean she right?" she stared at clovermottle for a few secands. before turning toward where the kit had stood but she expected nothing, the kit stared at lightningkit before running off"hey! don't run away!" she hissed but the kit was out of range. She stared at the paw marks on the river bank before turning towards clovermottle "clovermottle look at those paw prints!" she pointed her tail towards the set of paw marks at the river bank.
