Rapidpaw's Warrior Ceremony

The day was chill, colder than some of the days previous. It showed the claws that leaf-bare still had on the forest even as New-Leaf crept closer and closer. It was only a matter of time until Leaf-bare was completely chased away, but for now they had to deal with it's stubbornness. Despite the chill, Tigerstar and Windclan continued on with their day like normal. The leader finding himself up on the Tall Rock calling out to his clan. "Let all cats old enough to run the moor gather here for a clan meeting!"

Rapidpaw finally joined the meeting called. She had actually taken the time to groom down her wavy pelt to get it to look nice. Her apprentice ceremony she had not cared for such details but she would today. She wanted to look as well as she could and if nothing else, she knew it was probably important for her dad and her mentor that they daughter and apprentice actually have her fluffy pelt in order. She glanced around wondering if she could snag a spot next to one of her siblings or maybe... Oatfluff.

But it was too busy to see any of them. She sat down quickly not wanting to delay things any more than she had already.

She looked up to her leader and mentor. She hoped she had been a good apprentice to him and more over still that she would be a good warrior for him too now.

"Today we are gathered to name another warrior. We have had many this moon, but that doesn't make them any less than the other. They are all very valuable to Windclan in one way or another." Tigerstar stated, turning his attention to his apprentice. "Rapidpaw, please come forward." The leader said, waiting for Rapidpaw to make her way to the front.

"I, Tigerstar, leader of Windclan call upon my warrior ancestors to look down upon this apprentice. She has trained hard to understand your ways, and I commend her to you as a warrior in turn. Rapidpaw, do you promise to uphold the code, defend and honor Windclan even at the cost of your life?" The leader asked his apprentice. He already knew how she would answer, but he looked forward to her answer anyway.

If there was any cat whose antics Heatherfrost was always quick to forgive, it was Rapidpaw. In a stark contrast to the slitted, judgemental eyes she had offered at Oatfluff's ceremony, the warrior's gaze was bright and a smile tugged at the edge of her features. One of her littermates would be joining her in the warrior's den. Already she could picture them out on patrol together. Her tail flickered eagerly as she focused on her kin, not looking up at Tigerstar.

Only days ago, Minkshadow had become a warrior, and when she had, Rapidpaw was the one by her side. So when her father's voice called out again, and she realized that someone was to become a warrior today, the red she-cat trotted right over and plopped herself down next to Rapidpaw. "Hopefully this one's for you!" she leaned in and whispered good-naturedly.

When Tigerstar confirmed her suspicion, Minkshadow grinned and leaned her shoulder against Rapidpaw's briefly, waiting for her to move off and continue her ceremony. How exciting! With them both warriors, they'd be able to go out and explore the territory on their own - she couldn't wait.

Rapidpaw looked at her supportive friend and took a step forward. She could not help the adreneline that caused her heart to beat faster and faster. She took a quick glance to her sister Heatherfrost. They would all be warriors now! All the sisters.

She looked back up to her mentor and leader who had taught her so much. Part of her wished to spend even more time as his apprentice but she also knew that he could always teach her even as a warrior too.


"I will, I promise to defend this clan!" she meowed as she stepped forward to meet him.

"I will do my best to hold the warrior code and defend everyone here

Tigerstar nodded, grateful that she had expanded on her answer, going above and beyond the normal response. "Then by the powers of Starclan I give you your warrior name. Rapidpaw, from this moment on you will be known as Rapidfire. Windclan honors your caring and thoughtful attitude, and we welcome you as a full warrior of Windclan."

The striped tom jumped down off of Tallrock approaching his former apprentice with a smile. He rested his head on top of hers, finishing up the ceremony fully. "Congratulations." He told her before he stepped back to let others welcome the newest warrior.

Heatherfrost stood as her voice raised to join in on the chorus of praise. Unlike at her other sister's ceremony, there was no jealousy or bitterness, only joy. She padded over to butt her head into Rapidfire's shoulder, glancing between her kin with a flicker of a smile, "Come on, Sootstorm, every cat knows you work warriors just as hard."

Rapidfire was nearly jumping up and down with excitment. She purred nodding to her mentor and leader as he congratulated her.

"Thanks for being an amazing teacher she chirped as they touched heads

Soon after, her dad and sister were nuzzling her too! This was the bestest day ever, "thanks... and yeah" she agreed joking along with Sootstorm
