Nettlepaw's [Assessment]

Swiftheart led her apprentice out of camp. She was still not the most pleased with his behavior following the attack on her sister.

However, she also did not know the full context of all that. In either case, tonight was a new night and every cat was allowed to make mistakes. She would do her best not to hold that against him or over his head.


"Come on nettlepaw, lets get this test going. The rules are pretty simple, pin your opponent down to win. NO claws allowed. As I am wanting to see your progress in training I will not go full force on you. That being said I want you to give this your all. Without injuring one another I want this to simulate as close as possible a real battle."


She turned towards her apprentice.

"get ready... in real battle you do not get a countdown either"

She gave one last playful pur and their spar began out of no where as she leapt at him with a leaping strike

After getting his rear handed to him in their last fight, Nettlepaw was less than eager to be having another so soon. Hopefully this time would be different, Swiftheart certainly seemed less angry at least, which was a bonus. "I remember the rules from our last smackdown." he mewed cutting in. This time he just wanted to get it over with, maybe even give Swiftheart a taste of the whooping she gave him. A fierce sense of determination swept over Nettlepaw, almost similar to when Lilypaw had taunted him. If there was one thing he didn't like it was being made a fool of.

Swiftheart attacked first, sending Nettlepaw flying backwards. His back hit the hard dirt and he lashed out with sheathed paws to get Swiftheart away from him, then smacked her extra hard to show that he meant business this time. The Nettlepaw that liked being lazy during training and joking around was going to be gone for a long time. The events of the past few days had changed the apprentice greatly, for better or worse it remained to be seen.

Swiftheart was happy with her apprentices improvments, he was trying so hard now to be a good apprentice on his route to warriorhood.

Even if he thought otherwise, she was very proud of him.

She let out a squeal of surprise as he got her back pretty good too.

The first of Swiftheart's swipes connected with Nettlepaw's flank, but he learned quickly and saw that another powerful blow was incoming. Nimbly he leaped out of the before lashing out with a blow of his own. He was panting hard, but his eyes lit up with the fun he was having.

Swiftheart was caught off gaurd by her apprentcies resilience as he dodged out of the way to keep his chances alive. She was impressed by how fast he had learned this all.

Nettlepaw hit the ground with a thud, though he wasted no time dwelling on his defeat at Swiftheart's words. "For real?!" he asked, a loud purr rumbling in his throat. "I won't have to any more dumb chores and I'll get to finally know all the top secret stuff and we'll be denmates too! This is great!" His stumpy tail wagged happily. "Are you going to tell Leopardstar now so I can get my name today? What do you think my name'll be, something awesome like Nettledestroyer probably, or Nettlestar cos once Leopardstar hears how good I am she'll retire straight away. You watch!"
