'Invasion Dice' :

The leash grub had tied around his spawn was very loose. Once they had reached their new home Louse's father seemed content to let them all loose. It had taken Louse a little longer to step out of the rogue nest, but he had in time, once he felt he might be at least able to handle himself. Fish had been exploring before, and he'd heard some of his tales now Louse was eager to get in on the drama as well. Despite how young he was the kit was use to travelling for long distances, the trek into the forest territories was actually enjoyable compared to travelling from the sodden box to whatever their current home actually was. The calico didn't have much appreciation for beauty, but he found the tunes and tones the birds above exchanged quite pleasant, and the bright colours were preferable to the dull hues of his own home.

Rustling up ahead caught his ears and Louse dropped into a crouch, stalking through the undergrowth. Peering out between the leaves he caught sight of the culprits pelt. A clan cat! Mischievous glee spread throughout his tiny body. He'd never met a clan cat before! Had any of his siblings met one? He knew the crew that he shared his home with weren't fans of them, but they weren't here to stop him. Louse could misbehave all he wanted, and they'd be none the wiser. An excited purr rumbled in his chest, but all his sneaking was ruined the clan cat had somehow spotted him! Inconceivable!

His tail whipped behind him as he exploded out of the bushes blocking the kitten's path. "Hello," he mewed copying the tom's cheerful manner. His amber eyes travelled over the cat before him taking him in. Clan cats didn't seem all that scary, or different - in fact the one in front of him seemed kinda tame. He just wanted to talk to. Louse supposed he could indulge his kits curiosities, he was pretty curious about the clans too. "What can I help you with?" he asked cocking his head, whiskers twitching "My name's Louse, what's yours?"

Louse nodded smile widening "Me too! New cats are so interesting, I've never met any cats outside of my family before. It's nice to meet you Firekit." he listened to everything else Firekit rambled about, ears perking. This Firekit guy was certainly an open leaf! Louse was inclined to be more reserved, one thing he'd learnt in his short life was not to trust anyone. His siblings were always pulling pranks, who knew what this stranger would pull. Though, Firekit's adventure did seem pretty interesting, and the calico would love to see the other clans. "Can I come?" he asked, edging closer to the tom kit. He also wanted to know what the drama he was referencing was all about. It seemed like it was a bit more than just bad blood, everyone back home would love to know that the clan cats were at each other's throats. It'd also probably make his life easier if the clans were focused on killing each other, rather than the other rogue cats. They were hardly an issue, he didn't get why the clans were so bothered about them being on there territory, they didn't need all of it.

Louse frowned he was a bit of a useless navigator having only just started exploring, he didn't even know what clan's territory he was on right now. Firekit didn't know that though. An idea formed in his head for a game he could play, but he wasn't going to clue the clan kit in on it. "I do! Follow me, I can take you there!" he purred, lifting his tail in the air as a beacon for Firekit to follow "Let's go solve this problem of yours!"

High in the branches of a tree above the pair of kits, two hot yellow eyes watched their interaction. Lips peeled back in a grimace at the scent of rogue that wafted through the branches up to him now, and his claws sank into the bark. Sunfire had followed Firekit here, tracking the young cat through the trees just far enough behind to ensure his son didn't see or hear him. Most parents probably would have snatched him by the scruff and hauled him back to the nursery, but Sunfire wanted to know where he would go, and what he would do.

The warrior scented the rogue before he saw him, and had nearly dropped from the tree then and there, but when he saw the loner, he'd decided not to. The other tom was around Firekit's age, and size, so if things did turn nasty, there would be plenty of time for him to intervene. Instead, he settled down on to his belly along the branch and watched until the kits turned to go elsewhere.

He'd follow them, if they moved, but for now he was just watching.

Louse was completely blissful to the threat that hovered just above his head. The creaking of branches was just the ambience of the forest, the bass to the melody that was the chirp of birds and chatter of rodents. As he led Firekit deeper into clan cat territory, his eyes swept from left to right searching for core piece of his plan. An ear ticked as the kit spoke, Louse glanced over his shoulder, his gaze meeting Firekit's, amber eyes full of mischief. "RiverClan, its closer... ThunderClan is... Somewhere way over there." his tail flicked randomly, as he had no clue where they hid. Firekit needed him to lead him, so obviously he didn't either. Confidence was key, he smiled wider. Underneath his paw, the dirt grew damper and when he inhaled the scent was earthier, muskier. The little rogue trilled happily, he may not know the clan territories yet, but he understood the way landscapes shifted to accommodate their features.  "We're getting close! See how the dirt is kind of damp and it smells different? That's cause there's water nearby... Or a River!"

Sure enough, the babble of running water could be heard, and as the calico pushed through the foliage in front of him a small brook came into view. Moonlight danced on its surface, broken by the ripples of its gentle waves. "Here we are!" Louse stepped back, letting Firekit take the lead as the pair approached the bank. Anticipation coiled itself around the rogue, claws excitedly sliding in and out of their sheathes. A few more mouse-lengths, a few more seconds and the idea in his head would become realised. Amber eyes, anxiously surveyed the ground  for anything... Or anyone that could interrupt him. The coast was clear, Louse inhaled shakily, drawing in a long breath, cheeks puffing up. He drew his claws back in, letting another second slip by, before rushing forward and shoving Firekit into brook.

The breath he sucked in was released in a cackling giggle, as the other kit fell into the water with a loud splash. Before the tortoiseshell could rampage after him, he darted into the thicket, crouching low and peering out between the leaves to observe, and be ready to run should Firekit launch his own assault. Louse's giggles very much gave away his hiding spot, unable to contain the joy and exhilaration that the prank had brought him.
