A Date Night for Friends [Rookfire: closed]

On the journey to the lake and back had been one of the most challenging times of Swiftheart's entire life. She had lost her daughter, brother, med cat and apprentice all in the span of a couple moons.

The first couple weeks of being back in camp she had fallen into deep despair and had not been taking care of herself at all. Her pelt had become matted and her white fur stained with the swam muck of patrolling shadowclan lands. As soon as she finished work she would collapse into her nest too tired to do anything else and this downward spiral of a process repeated for longer than she liked.

Finally, she got herself some help. She talked with Pine - the clan therapist of sorts who always seemed to be helpful during such times. She fought with sablestrike to blow off steam and vent... and although they both ended with scars across their chest, it had in a strange way helped too. To let some of that out.


Today, was valentines day and she sat in the warriors den looking out at the sunset (which for shadowclan is their morning).

She slowly groomed at her pelt getting the knots of clumped fur out and washed off the stains that she had. She was slowly healing. Perhaps, one of her strongest traits was that she was resilient. The pain of losing so many still hurt yes but she was finally able to start remembering the good memories she had of them too rather than just the initial loss of them.

She looked across the camp spotting Rookfire. An idea crossed her mind ... could I ask him for a valentine's date? she blinked thinking it over.
A day to celebrate the ones she loved in her life seemed right for this after all.

And while she did love him... it was not in a mate or romantic sense or anything like that... he would understand that right?

She almost convinced herself that it would be a bad idea, that it would not be something he would want to do.

what if he says no?

But before she could change her mind she slowly got to her paws and went over closer to him.


"Rookfire? do you wanna go on a date for valentine's day?" she asked shuffling slightly nervous on her paws.

"It doesnt have to be... romantic or like we are mates or anything" she quickly added wanting to take any pressure of that kind of thing off right away.

"just a date as friends?" she asked
