Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times.
Littlepaw was more than relieved that ThunderClan had finally returned home. The temporary abode that the Clans had discovered beyond the mountain range had proven itself to be fine in its own ways, but the apprentice hadn't even had the opportunity to properly explore it. She had been horribly sick for the majority of the time, after all. She was glad that she once again had the ability to hunt and fight, but she was still a bit peeved that she had missed out on some of the new sights that the territories by the lake had provided. Why couldn't it have been one of the cats she didn't like that fell gravely ill?
She padded along with the patrol, keeping her gaze in front of her instead of down at the snow below. She couldn't get distracted. Littlepaw wanted to use her newfound health and actually make herself useful for the first time in moons. The she-cat silently veered to the side and branched away from the rest of her patrol as the scent of a squirrel caught her attention. Perfect! Finding the ugly little thing had almost been too easy. Muscle memory kicked in as she crouched low and shifted toward her catch. She ignored the flakes of snow that flew into the air as she sprang, claws outstretched, right at the squirrel's hiding spot, and satisfaction caused a grin to spread on her maw as she trapped it beneath her claws and swiftly bit its neck. She didn't attempt to hide her smugness as she buried the creature underneath a thin blanket of snow. She had taken time off from hunting, but now she was back and as good as ever.

Sickness has taken over him for as long as he can remember ever since their long-lasting journey - but, Stars, did it feel good to finally be back home. To revisit all the sights he'd missed out on and grew nostalgic for, even in such a brief period—it felt long enough to the tom to feel almost wistful, as silly as that probably sounded.
He was sick, yes, but not crippled. He still had plenty of renewed energy to go around and to provide for his clan. Thick blankets of snow coated familiar pathways where they usually walked past, leaving paw prints behind where they ventured across before. He smiled, feeling the snow tickle his nose, and chuckled when it clung to his pelt. Thanks to his long coat of fur, he wouldn't freeze in leaf-bare.
Lifting his head to scent the air, his attention was instantly caught when he caught the scent of a rodent trying to scurry itself hidden under a nearby bush. Slightly awkward paws gave way to practiced poise as he instinctively dropped himself into a hunting crouch—staying silent and creeping up slowly just until it was the right time to strike. Gotcha! Teeth secured into the mouse, he made his own prey hiding spot and covered it with a similar, thin layer of snow—feeling pride swell at his chest after being able to not hunt for so long.
Thrushnose attempted to hunt Rodent for 5 SP. It was a Success!

Acornstem padded along, ears perked as she kept an eye on the nearby undergrowth. While it felt wonderful to be back home, to see the familiar sights and have everything feel right for a change...She couldn't help but be worried. ThunderClan had suffered quite a bit and now she was determined to keep them safe as they recovered. There was so many tasks to be done - sprucing up the camp, redoing the borders, locating any predators that might have slipped in along with all of hunting patrols - she didn't really expect to be assigning herself to patrols for a bit while she sorted things out but...
Well, she was Littlepaw's mentor and she had to start focusing on her and Nettlepaw again now that she had a chance to actually breathe when it came to the state of ThunderClan. Of course, it seemed Littlepaw didn't need any training on how to hunt, skillfully catching a squirrel while Thrushnose caught a rodent of some type. It had been a while since the deputy had been given a chance to hunt as she tasted the air spotting a lone bird peck uselessly at the snow. She dropped into a crouch as she started to stalk towards it. Despite the snow, she crossed without nary a sound until she made her pounce to close the distance - and by then it was too late. Paws pinned the bird to the snow as she quickly ended its life. Taking a moment to thank StarClan for its life, she leaned down and picked it up as she turned to head back to the patrol.
Acornstem attempted to catch a bird and succeeded, costing 5 stamina.
