"Let all ThunderClan cats gather to my voice!"
There was pity in Acornstem's heart for young Flickerkit and Emberkit - the two kits that Vinecrawler had unknowingly orphaned. She had promised them the chance to leave - to live their own lives - once the Clan could be certain they could fend for themselves...Only to be forced to drag them away from their home in the wake of the wolves. Perhaps it was for the best, they likely would have died even if their mother had still been alive to care for them but... If they chose to leave, to return to where they were born would require trekking a path they would likely not remember. It was not what she had wanted for them... Perhaps they would feel further trapped into the Clans by being in unfamiliar territory and she didn't want their paws to be found by fear. But there was nothing that could be done and they still had to be taught how to survive. Of course, said training couldn't formally be done until they were back in the forest but... Well, the two had reached six moons old from what they could tell.
It was time for them to achieve their apprentice names and get a chance to really see what being a Clan cat was about.
The past few days had been a flurry of activity, none of it particularly pleasant. It seemed that Faraday and his sister had hardly settled into ThunderClan and given their new names when it was time to leave again. The fear-scent was still heavy in the air of ThunderClan's makeshift resting spot as Acornstem called for...something. He had to admit, he wasn't particularly paying attention, busy with cleaning the long fur on his tail. She sounded urgent, however, so he at least paid her the respect of pausing his grooming to look up at her. With his recent luck, it would be something like "so-and-so-tail died," or "catpaw got eaten by a wolf." Never in a million moons did he think it was something about himself.

Acornstem's expression was soft as she watched Flickerkit approach to join the gathering crowd. "I've called you all here as we celebrate more kits have reached the age of six moons...Or just about," she admitted - it was hard to guess what age the two kits were but it felt safe to say that they were six moons old or perhaps even a tad older. "Flickerkit, please step forward," she meowed with a swish of her tail, giving a nod towards them.
"The time has come to gain a real understanding of what our lives are like. From this day forward, until you gain your warrior names or choose to take your own path in life, you will be known as Flickerpaw," she meowed, raising her head to scan the crowd until she spotted Redsun. "Your mentor will be Redsun, who I trust will teach you everything he knows."

His ears perked as Acornstem called his Clan name. That's right, he was about that age...more or less. Feeling eyes on his pelt now, he drew himself up with a puff of pride. Although he didn't yet know a lot about what it meant to be a Clan cat, it wasn't a bad life, so he'd do what he could to make his time there worthwhile.
The newly-named Flickerpaw scanned the gathered cats for someone that could possibly be named "Redsun", although they doubted that their training would begin while the Clans were still traveling.

Redsun's ears perked from his place among the gathered cats. His first apprentice? He felt a warm glow in his chest at knowing Acornstem felt like she could trust him with a young cat's training. Although he still felt off due to the sickness, the short tom made sure to appear at least somewhat dependable in front of Flickerpaw. Stepping before the young cat, he purred brightly, "This'll be fun, don't you worry!"
