Cindersky had felt the Leafbare bite that morning, long before the world was painted white. It had been a welcome, the breeze nice against her pelt that seemed too hot at all times. The fever ebbed but never truly broke, so at very least the breeze was a short reprieve. Trying to manoeuvre to keep Rookflight from most of the cold was a task in itself, but the last thing they needed right now was a chill on top of it all. She was thankful that, although she had been handed an pleasant dose, it wasn't bad enough to keep her from proper thought or unable to care even a little bit for the much sicker cats.
It was when the chill brought a small, white speck drifting into the den that she became fully aware of the cold and what it brought. She followed it until it landed and melted on the ground, and a slow thought began to form from the depths of her memory. The stories she had shared with Poppyshine long ago; was this snow? She knew she would be told off endlessly, if not by Larkspring, by some other poor sod that happened across her, but she unpeeled herself from her nest and stumbled her way to the mouth of the den. White. Crisp. She poked her head out further and pressed her paw into it. Frigid. Soft? Her other paw joined it. It pooled and crunched between her paws and the cold was blissful. Sickness momentarily forgotten (albeit her unsteady steps), she had discovered that it was extremely entertaining to pounce on clumps of the fresh snow and toss it into the air.

Egretswoop “I will always fly back home.”
Though she was still reeling from the illness that had settled deep into her body, Egretswoop had pushed past it to be able to enjoy the chill. Her fox pelt had been folded and stored neatly in the shelter of their warrior's den, atop the moss of the nest she had claimed. She near-flawlessly blended into the terrain as the forest changed from shades of amber and red to white. If there had ever been a time for her to be a more lethal predator, now it was.
Yet, her mind was far from violence as she moved about outside. The white that now blanketed the forest bore with it a stillness and silence that she had not previously accounted for. While the roar of their new home had not yet fully died down in her ears, this muffled it all to a murmur that was significantly more tolerable. She wasn't straining at every possible second to attempt to silence out the world, but her ears still mostly swiveled back to somehow muffle it even more. However, the honey-toned gaze was widened in kittish delight as she moved about, moving past the aches in her muscles as she walked-no, hopped-from one place to another, delighting in the gentle crunch! that came every time she hopped.
Swiveling her head towards the gentle sounds of pawsteps, only to mimic her own movements, her eyes only somehow got wider with that same joy of youth. "Snow!" The word was a singular, purred chuff from her chest, and she hopped over. Batting pieces that fell away towards Cindersky, it felt as if she'd been transported back to the simpler times when she did not have the weight of her position on her shoulders. Swiping up a particularly sound chunk as if it were a mossball, she tossed it right towards the newer warrior, unable to hold back her pure sign of glee as it flecked all across her pelt. "Ah. Shall we play?" A bit late to ask, now that she'd already pelted her clanmate with the snow, but she could at least ask before throwing more.

Her warbled, clogged hearing barely heard someone approaching her. It was like that when she had been resting for a time. She turned her head and, if not for the eyes looking back at her, might have missed Egretswoop entirely. Egretswoop? She had little time to think about why in StarClans name Egretswoop of all cats was approaching her in the snow, when she got a face full of it.
"Uff--" Was the first sound out of her mouth, followed by a startled mewl when she felt her paws sliding out from underneath her. She had not even realised she was beginning to fall, and only just caught herself when her side landed against a bit of a rock. She went to shake her fur free of the white flakes that was melting into her when she sneezed-- rather viciously,-- and for a moment, she gleefully was unsure whether that was from the snow or the sickness.
"I can try," Cindersky purred out hoarsely. "But I don't know if my aim will be half as good as yours!"
It wouldn't have been good even if she was hale and healthy, but once she had the snow packed as best she could, she realised she was seeing double, and Egretswoop blended in as well! Her breathing stuttered as she held back a cough in favour of lining up the bat of her paw, and when she thought the two Egretswoops had lined up, hit it as hard as she could.

Egretswoop “I will always fly back home.”
There was simply no word that could properly articulate the amount of glee that practically radiated in waves off of the snow-pelted warrior as Cindersky agreed to at least attempt to play in the snow with her. She could have very easily sought out some kits to participate in their game instead, but it felt particularly cruel on the warrior's part. She wanted to be able to play with whatever strength counted, and unfortunately the involvement of her younger clanmates would have landed her in more trouble than fun. But with another warrior? She could very easily play around.
Hopping about in the snow, Egretswoop's tail swished with delight. Crunch, crunch, crunch! Even though the silence of a lethal warrior had been trained into her very essence, she made no attempt to be silent. If anything, making the sound was bringing some uncanny glee, and her hoarse laughter zipped along her pelt with as much fire as the burning of her lungs did.
Egretswoop glanced back a time or two to try and spot Cindersky, which was significantly easier to do at a glance than it was to find Egretswoop herself. Having a while pelt in the midst of snow meant she blended in particularly easily, and it took looking at the treeline to be able to make out her shape. Still, just as she was about to hop, she felt the cold pack of snow collide with her side. "Eep!" The squeak came out as she lost some of her footing, tumbling over and almost faceplanting into a pile of snow.
Immediately after, though, it was nothing but kittish giggles bubbling up from the warrior. "You got me! Heheee! Good job!" Wide eyes of newleaf honey may as well have been sparkling as she beamed in her clanmates direction. There was an energy bubbling beneath her fur that she hadn't felt in quite some time, and Egretswoop allowed her legs to carry her as she zipped around, flinging snow this way and that. It'd certainly spray far enough to cover her clanmate in a light dusting of the white powder if she didn't take the time to move out of the way. "Oh, I adore the snow!"

Cindersky struggled to keep her eyes focused on Egretswoop, each voracious movement that certainly justified the she-cats warrior name making her eyes unfocus and the vertigo almost impossible to keep a grip on. Nevertheless, she did her best with her poorly aimed fling, and a gasp of surprise shuddered out of her when it thwacked right into her and disappeared. "Oh, I'm so sorry--" Her paws lurched forward as if to move to catch the ivory warrior before she fell, only to stumble in catching herself when she bounded back as though it were nothing.
"Please be careful, oh, StarClan,--" Her words caught in her throat when she got a mouthful of the snowflurry sent up by the hyperactive warrior she had initially had an impression of stoicness and quiet of. She coughed and spluttered, making a hissing sound as the cold hit one of her teeth and she scrunched up her nose so it would dissipate faster.
"You look like you're made of snow," Cindersky began to say, only to be blinded by another flurry. She opened her mouth to speak again but this time caught sight of the incoming flakes sent up by tireless feet and skitterred to the side before it hit her. "Why don't we-- Egretswoop, slow down you're making me dizzy!-- Why don't we make a--..." Where did she go? Her excitedness was infectious but she couldn't even find her white pelt amongst the snow. "--Why don't we try to make a snowcat? I think that's what they're called. Or I can just keep tossing it at you!"

Egretswoop “I will always fly back home.”
Egretswoop was ready to keep running. And running, and running... and running. However, that didn't mean her clanmate's words fell on deaf ears. Far from it, actually. It was somehow the only thing that was able to get through to her as she sprinted, but her legs seemed entirely unable to stop. Not until that fateful idea came from her clanmate's maw, at which point, her legs seemed to lock to bring her to a complete halt. Sliding to some degree through the snow, one she was finally stationary once more, it only took a heartbeat before she was ready to practically topple over.
"Yes! Oh, how fun!" She decided. Something that would let her rest in the snow for some time. Or, at least, allow her to be more still and calm her racing heartbeat. It was thundering much too loudly for her to be able to truly think, and Egretswoop thought for a moment that her ears may even just explode from the heat that now welled in them as a result of her racing. Coughs wracked her chest, making her pay for the burst of activity she'd had for the first time since they'd gotten to their temporary home.
"...Remind me... to not... do that... again." Panting as her need to breathe had fully caught up, the molly started rolling around bits and clumps of the snow in her paws. After all, they needed solid pieces of snow to work with if they were going to make a snowcat, and she could at least work with the snow around her as her body calmed back down. "I can shape... the legs." Egretswoop declared, as she'd already failed her job of making a circular ball as it quickly became more stick-shaped.

A smile held tight on Cindersky's features at the agreement, only faltering for a moment when Egretswoops lungs seemed to express an astute displeasure at the work they had just been put through. She stepped a little closer, and in a soft voice said; "Breathe slowly. The gasps will make you cough more." She deftly moved over the pile of snow the she-cat had gathered to clump together her own, and with the hint of a chuckle, said; "I can't promise you that. You looked like you were having fun."
She almost wanted to good-heartedly tease Egretswoop for failing to make a ball, but realised it wasn't as easy as it had seemed. Her ears were pinned back with concentration, and her tongue was held tight between her teeth and poking out from the middle of her lips. The air almost tasted cold. She had tried twice, maybe two and a half times, to properly construct what was intended to be the body of their snowcat, but it just kept splitting.
"Egretswoop," She said then, stopping to hiss at her now-cold tongue hitting the back of her teeth. "What if we just... Kept piling the snow and poking at it until it started to look like a cat rather than making it all seperately? I seem to be... terrible at this."
