Spiderkit stretched as she exited the makeshift nursery, yawning to herself quietly. After their travels, a nap had been much needed. Luckily, she was faring better than some of the others, who had fallen ill. Namely, her mother, Sorrelstep. She didn't have the symptoms as bad as some of the others, but it was still a cause for concern. Spiderkit had been reassured by older cats that her mother would be just fine, so it didn't occupy her thoughts too much. After all, if someone told her that, it must be true.

Making her way into the clearing, her eyes flitted around, searching for someone to pester speak with. She was a social molly at heart and needed some interaction. With a small humph, she seated herself in the middle of an open clearing, looking around for a target. Everyone seemed so busy, which wasn't good for a bored kit. She had half a mind to wander off into the territory, but her mother had sternly reminded her that she needed to stay in the vicinity of the rest of the clan.

The clans had quickly divided themselves apart again, as soon as they had arrived near the lake. She didn't quite understand why that was so important to everyone. Of course, she had only resided in the Riverclan territory for a moon, so she hadn't learned all of the laws of the forest. With all of the issues they had faced, Spiderkit had found herself slightly ignored. Everyone else seemed to think that the other pressing matters at paw were far more important (and they were), but Spiderkit couldn't help but feel a little spiteful. Maybe now that they had settled, everything would go back to normal. That thought made her realize that she really wasn't quite sure what normal entailed.

Luckily, Spiderkit didn't have to force anyone into conversation. She was approached by an older cat who she assumed was a warrior. She'd spotted him before, but hadn't been able to engage in much conversation. Everyone had been so busy, far too busy to talk to a bored kit. However, he didn't seem extremely friendly. She supposed he was giving some kind of warning, but it was pretty ominous and off-putting. Condescending, almost. She knew that there was a sickness. She was young, sure, but she wasn't mouse-brained. Her mouth curled into a small frown as she stood up, glancing at the taller cat indignantly. She was pretty sure she wouldn't drop dead by milling about, and who was he to boss her around anyways? Her tail flicked as she spoke, her words laced with annoyance.

"I don't think I'll get sick by talking to anyone. What am I supposed to do, just sit in the nursery? That's so boooooring." She elongated the final word, cocking her head to the side slightly. "Besides, you don't need to lecture me about it. My mama is sick, and I've already been told I can't go see her." She sighed a little bit with that final thought. She had been born without any littermates, so she didn't have any family to interact with at the moment. And Riverclan wasn't exactly full of kits, in fact, there was only one other inhabitant of the nursery.

"You're lucky you're a warrior. You can at least be helpful and go do stuff. All I get to do is sit around all the time," she complained. She was still immature and hadn't quite yet realized that not everything revolved around her. It had certainly seemed that way when she had first been born, but things had changed quickly. She didn't really want to be a nuisance to anyone, but she wasn't sure what else to do.  

Spiderkit grumbled to herself slightly. Talking back may not have been the best choice. She knew it would be easier if she just listened to him, but she couldn't help it! Everything just seemed so unfair, it was frustrating. She listened to his words with a small sigh. Maybe she lacked awareness of the situation, but everyone else seemed to forget how boring it was. At least he remembered. She shrugged, with a small nod. "Okay." she mumbled, somewhat disappointed. He could have said it nicer, but maybe he did have a point. She scrunched her nose for a moment, taking in the slight awkwardness of the situation. "Sorry for uh- getting in your way." It wasn't the most sincere of apologies, but Larkspring was lucky he got anything out of her. She gave him a slightly sarcastic nod before walking away from him, careful to avoid bumping into anyone until she was out of sight. She didn't need any other lectures today.
