Leopardstar sighed in response to WindClan's deputy. Her resentment of the moor-runners hadn't fully faded, but the sharp edges of pain and rage had dulled with time; and she had no personal quarrel with this cat she hardly knew. Besides, this illness affected everyone. "Take things one step at a time, mostly," she suggested, expression twisting into a frown as she considered their limited options. "Find ourselves places to settle--I'm sure we're all eager to not be stuck in the same small space. Provide the medicine cats whatever resources they require, if we can find them."
Her tail lashed in annoyance. "Then curse the stars for their lack of mercy," she muttered, more to herself than anyone else. Then, louder: "Allow the sick places to rest, and hope that they don't push themselves to the point of injury or worse. I've seen my fair share of disaster, but... Never anything quite like this."

Poppykit followed along behind her Clan, darting between the queens legs and bounding ahead of them, eager to hear what the senior warriors were discussing. An unseen but quick gruff from behind her halted her advance, and with a sigh she turned around and sat down, observing the cats gathered around the lakeside. Acornstem was addressing the group, and as Poppykit listened she realized that her voice sounded…hoarse. ‘That’s strange, maybe she got a feather stuck in her throat!’ She thought, amused. A cough sounded behind her, and a sneeze somewhere to her left. Confused, Poppykit glanced around at her Clanmates. She watched as a sickness ravaged through them, slanted ears and hunched, uncomfortable postures surrounded her. Noticing it, she realized the air around her smelled…weird. Different. She couldn’t figure it out, but she knew it had something to do with the sick cats. Poppykit suddenly felt uncomfortable being around so many cats at once, and prayed to StarClan that she’d be spared from their fate. She gave her chest a few quick licks, and straightened up. Well, if she felt alright, then that must mean it’ll all be okay. She tried to believe that, truly, but watching Acornstem try to reassure the Clan, she felt a cold pit of anxiety start to form in her stomach. She shook her head and followed along, noticeably closer to the queens than before, and more subdued.

The sickness had descended hard and fast on the traveling group and when it had grasped them all with its vile claws Crocuspaw didn't know. There had been a few sick at the start of their journey, but as they traveled and reached the large watery expanse this sickness closed its jaws around them with a snap. Acornstems voice pulled her from her thoughts, and the large apprentice swiftly made her way over even if it felt that even her bones were frozen. Acornstem was quick to ask that she locate them a place to bed down, and away from the other clans that much was clear, and even if Crocuspaw had used every kit tale she learned from her father and helped guide them to what seemed to be nearly paradise she couldn't help but feel apprehension linger. Redsun would not be at her side either, nor the other clan's scouts. "Of course, Acornstem," She said instead. With a harsh nod and a hardening of her chin, Crocuspaw swiveled on her paws and ventured away from the group, fear making her stomach churn.
It was melancholy, that while Crocuspaw was guiding her clan- all the clans - to somewhere safe, she was also often alone and solitary, now even more so. The feral apprentice couldn't help but worry that it was her blood that motivated this isolation. Shaking her head of the thought, Crocuspaw pushed on, cresting over the ridge and down.

Everything felt a lot… heavier than usual. It was partly because he’d lost so much muscle mass due to prolonged hunger, sure, but this was way, way more intense. Was it from his duties as a scout, using his eyes, nose, ears, and brain a lot more? If that was the case, then Crocuspaw should feel similar. Yet while she seemed a little off, it wasn’t quite to his degree. Redsun found himself apologizing to her every time he lagged behind. Which soon became the rule instead of the exception to it. He’d never felt so drained in his life.
Though his legs screamed at him to lay down, he had to push through. It took him a bit to realize he’d been walking by himself, and that the air was warmer, not biting his ears and nose nearly as much as when they’d traveled through the mountain passes. “Oh.” He turned and looked back, but the ginger tomcat suddenly swayed beneath a wave of vertigo and he stumbled, back legs in a lounging position while his front remained upright. He felt like he was going to be sick. A few long heartbeats passed before the darkening of his vision faded away and he felt he could stand steady once more.
The sensation of mud beneath his paws came to the forefront of his lagging brain, then the thick scent of water. Instinct moved him forward and even though his empty stomach complained that it wasn’t food, the ThunderClan tom could already feel the cobwebs in his mind washing away with the fresh water. “It’s-!” Raising his voice so quickly caused a bout of raucous coughing and his whole body cried with weariness at the effort. Yet he still raised a yowl of delight when it was over, gazing at the gathering cats with his chest fur soaked with water. “It’s clean! The water is clean and delicious!” Stars, was he happy to not have to eat snow anymore! And he was sure that RiverClan would be doubly happy to see clean water again. His mother cared for them a lot, and so he did too.

“Ha-chi!”
Snailpaw shook her head after letting out what felt like the hundredth sneeze that day. Even if she was about ready to shiver her pelt clean off, the ShadowClan she-cat felt more comfortable than she’d been in moons. Amongst the sickness and the hunger and the infighting. It wasn’t all that bad really, even if everyone was miserable and exhausted and half out of their minds. She had dearly missed being around so many cats, having been born when all the clans lived in Fourtrees. Though she wouldn’t say that out loud. She’d probably get some questioning looks from every cat here if she did.
Sometimes it felt far warmer to be among strangers.

Quailprowler had taken both of her roles seriously. She had stood next to Mottlestar's side the entire journey, except when dismissed of course. It frustrated her, seeing Mottlestar both sick and wounded with nothing she could do about it. No way to protect her. Lives had never been discussed with Mottlestar, but Quailprowler assumed she had more... There was that at least. Silverpaw was sick too and looked particularly lifeless. There was no use training right now anyway. Silverpaw was too sick and now they were at their new home getting ready to settle in. Acornstem gave orders and both of Quailprowler's wards confirmed she was okay to leave. Hesitating, the molly looked between the two of them. "If I leave, you both better be here when I return." She growled firmly, helping Mottlestar settle to the ground. Crocuspaw passed them, her gaze straight and off in the distance. Still a -paw after everything, hmm. With one last glance to Silverpaw and Mottlestar, Quailprowler stalked off to find any prey for the sick.
Quailprowler has gone hunting. ---
Coyotegrin had her paws full. Kestrelchirp had fallen seriously ill and in result, she had to practically carry him. With no WindClan medicine cat, she had hounded the other clan's cats, begging them for help. Nothing seemed to really work. They had so few herbs that everything was only a temporary relief of the symptoms. Her gaze caught Tigerdance's gaze as he was giving orders. Her apprentice had gone on to take the position of Deputy. A younger her would have been jealous. But a her now was just proud that she had once more successfully touched the clan with her handiwork. The hatred for her had almost disapeared now with Whisperear and Brackenwing leaving.... Where were they now, she wondered? Orders snapped her out of her curiousity. Dipping her head, Coyotegrin regarded the Deputy.
"Of course, Tigerdance." Turning her attention to her son, Coyotegrin looked around for her other. "Eagle, please watch your brother." Her tense voice rang out. With one last glance, Coyotegrin slipped away from the group behind Crocuspaw. She coughed a few times and sniffled.
Coyotegrin is following Crocuspaw to go scout.[b]

Kestrelchirp could hardly breathe, his voice hoarse and raspy as his mother let him down. Wildly glancing around, a surge of panic hit him once more. Where was he? Who was she? What was going on?
[b]Kestrelchirp is severely sick.

Burdockroot groaned as she finally put down her bundle of herbs and shook them out of her badger pelt. Heatherberry had fallen extremely sick, as had others. They hadn't seen herbs besides poppy, marigold, and cobwebs since they left the forest, so they all had what they had. No one herb seemed to do anything meaningful to the symptoms... Which meant that there must be a very carefully thought out combination that could kick it. Sighing, she looked at her stock. Hopefully, the answer was here. Grinding her teeth, Burdockroot actually felt what some cats would consider 'anxiety'. Heatherberry was sick. So many cats were sick. But importantly, Heatherberry was sick. If she lost Heatherberry, she would lose it too. It's not how it's supposed to go - Burdockroot was supposed to be taking her exit soon. Not Heatherberry.
The medicine cat got her apprentice - although a full medicine cat, Heatherberry would always affectionatley be her apprentice - settled onto her Badgerpelt. Neatly, she swiftly lined up her bundles just as she had at every other stop before asking a nearby warrior to watch over them. Then, her large paws took her to Leopardstar.
"Leopardstar, Heatherberry is sick. I am mildly sick. Others are even sicker. I only have the herbs that came with us. I need a den, and an assigned warrior to watch the herbs at all times." Burdockroot lowered her voice as she said this, looking from side to site. "With the threat of war between RiverClan and SkyClan despite this mess, the words of 'truce' will mean nothing when cats start dying. We are only required to share what we can spare. Right now, we can't spare anything. I don't trust that desperate actions won't be taken against our herb store."
"When there's nothing left to burn, you have to set yourself on fire."

Trudging, trudging along. Cats sneezing and coughing and spluttering every-which-way had begun to irritate him. Every wheeze made him grit his teeth and want to swipe and something. He was so annoyed by it all and all the walking and how tired he was that he wanted to groan and complain. Until Mama was different. She was tired and sometimes she wobbled. And Wolfkit was quiet then.
Wolfkit did not complain, nor did he argue. He said little except answer anything said to him. He walked in his Mama's shadow. She looked tired. The Mama that always gave out to him wasn't there anymore. It made his eyes sting. He didn't know what to call it.
Wolfkit is discovering worry. He's sticking by Pineblossom's side.
Cindersky's head ached. Her skin burned on the inside and yet she felt like she was wrapped in layer of shaded river water. Every pawstep felt like a struggle and every time she swallowed it felt like tiny briar thorns went with it. It was a struggle not to cough, and sometimes her throat felt so caught that she struggled to take a wheezing breath. But that was not her worry.
"Oh, we made it," She said. Her voice sounded yards away. So did everyone elses. They echoed, like her ears were full of water. She blinked and swallowed and grimaced. "It's... Pretty."
She turned her head to look at her companions. As she did it, the world churned and her vision swam and she just about slid her paws further out underneath her to stop herself from swaying. A sickly sort of nausea gripped her and she had to swallow again, and then had to subdue her cough again. StarClan never made it easy for them.
"Are you both okay?" She asked Rookflight and Larkspring. She was not so oblivious as to go unnoticing of the viral illness that had clutched more than just herself. Rookflight seemed lethargic, but she wasn't sure if they were just tired and put-out like before, and not being certain made her feel more terrible than the warm heat that ate her skin like bugs. "We might have time to rest for a bit now."
Cindersky is checking in with Larkspring and Rookflight. Moderate Severity

They made it. ShadowClan made it.
Rookfire, on the other hand, was barely pulling himself through.
After helping the young RiverClan apprentice - Duckpaw, if he remembered their name correctly - he came down with a very bad cough. At first, he took the usual herbs for whitecough, which helped for that day.
The next day, he started coughing blood.
He asked Burdockroot and Heatherberry for advice, but nothing any of them tried worked. At that point, his muscles started to weaken - or perhaps they had weakened a while ago, and he never noticed it due to his duties as a scout - which was something he couldn't identify.
The sickness started getting worse and worse as he traveled, to the point he wondered if it was better for ShadowClan if he didn't travel with them. At the same time, he knew that the medicine cats wouldn't want him to abandon them and die alone - he wouldn't want any of his clanmates to do something like that.
What a scummy thing to get right when we're here.
Rookfire has severe symptoms.
~~
Ambersun felt like she was dying.
It was a horrible feeling she couldn't describe any way else. Her head couldn't think straight, and she found herself vomiting blood. Everything felt wrong, wrong, wrong. A shred of her even wished for the release of death, to enter StarClan just so the horrid pain would go away.
It tainted the otherwise-beauty of the lake, the excitement of the adventure they went on, and the security she had resting here.
Ambersun has severe symptoms.
~~
Kitespring felt StarClan's blessing when she saw the lake for the first time. Dashing down to the lake, she immediately joined the other group of cats lapping at the water. Stars, it felt so good to drink without restraint again. How many moons has it been since I got this chance?
For a second, her dizziness went away.
Kitespring has moderate symptoms.
~~
Poppycloud smiled at the territory below him. Just looking at the lake, it seemed Leopardstar and ShadowClan made the right decision to head out with the rest of the clans. It was... serene. Perhaps a little colder than he would have liked, but it was a massive improvement to ShadowClan's old territory. The perfect place to stay a while.
Sniffling, the black tuxedo gazed around ShadowClan, noticing his dad watching him from afar.
Poppycloud has mild symptoms.

Berrypaw only felt a bit sick, though she couldn’t deny she was coughing. She watched Brightpaw goof off, blinking slowly, then beaming at him before edging towards the back of the bunch, rearing her tail, making it look shorter. She felt dizzy; it seemed she was feeling this since a kit. When the warriors and apprentices came back from the gathering, she stepped towards the rest of the Skyclans cats stumbling over her paws.

Sickness. All around her, cats sounded like they were hacking up a lung.. Somehow, Beechfang had avoided the strange sickness so far, yet she still cursed the stars for their terrible luck. Perhaps they found it funny, to send the clans fleeing from their territory and right into the arms of a storm, then right into the claws of illness. Perhaps some of the cats up there cared, but the ones that did were powerless to stop it.
The medicine cats, however, were not. Or she would have liked to believe so. She had butted into Smokepetal's travel preparations, perhaps coaxing (yes, coaxing. Not bulldozing) the medicine cat to bring more herbs than she would have otherwise. They didn't know what they would be facing on the journey, so best be prepared. And that preparation still wasn't enough. Go figure.
The scarred tabby wove among her clanmates, finding Smokepetal among them. She was not the medicine cat's favorite, and nor was the medicine cat hers, but there were more important things to focus on now. Like taking care of their clanmates.
"Looks like plenty of ours are sick... I seem to be fine for now." She mewed quietly, "What do you need?" Well, aside from more herbs... Getting their clanmates into some semblance of shelter would be a good start.
---
The realization that Ploverpaw had gone missing, combined with everything else about this wretched, cursed journey, had left Wolfblossom with little time for rest or care of herself. She had began coughing, like so many of her clanmates, but she was still standing. She was better off than most, it seemed... And that was reason enough to keep moving. Her clanmates needed their leadership, and they needed food, and herbs, and an end to this stars-forsaken traveling.
Worry clouded her gaze as the deputy looked around. Her kits, Stormwatcher, Thornstalker... None of them fared well. Skyclan's apprentices seemed to be spared the worst of the symptoms, but few of their warriors had. The lake stretched out before them now, and Wolfblossom knew only one thing. "We need to get everyone sheltered... The faster our sick are out of the elements, the better, I think. Those who are able to hunt are going to have their paws full, as will the medicine cats." She muttered to Birdstar, echoing what had already been said.
---
Stoneheart's body shook with the intensity of her coughing, flecks of red staining her muzzle that she couldn't be bothered to care about. She was so tired... So tired. Putting one paw in front of the other had become a struggle over the past few days, as both starvation and the sickness that had dug claws into her chest and throat worked against the warrior. Mistflower was with her, and that brought the silver warrior some comfort, but it worried her, too. How in the stars was she supposed to protect her sister in this state?
Beechfang (the picture of health) has approached Smokepetal. Wolfblossom (moderate severity) is talking with Birdstar. Stoneheart (high severity) is letting Mistflower fuss over her. Graywind (high severity) looks miserable. Swanpaw (mild severity) is somewhere whining.
OOC: I rolled a 7 on the sickness irl so will actually post with Gray/Swan at some point later.

Tawnyshadow felt more tired than she had been since she was a kit. Coughs shook her thin frame, the once mighty warrior reduced to a patchy pelt drapped over bones. She had worked too hard, she thought, to have worsened her already horrible condition to this mess. She once would have insisted on staying by Pineblossom and Swiftheart's side, helping out where she could even if it was as simple as fetching wet moss. Now, however, the sickly she-cat remained among warriors who shared similar conditions to her, refusing to even step close to where her healthier clanmates were. Whatever it was that she had, she would not give it to her friends.
Her only comfort was perhaps that she could walk alongside Sunflare. They had not spoken much since Skunkpaw was blinded, though it was more of her fault for avoiding him and choosing to wallow in her grief instead. Now, she found herself once more comforted with a companion as she walked alongside her mate, half-walking half-leaning on the tom as they arrived at their destination.
______________
Sootstorm was, thankfully, not experiencing any of the sickness that seemed to plague the rest of his clanmates. That didn't mean that he felt good-- if anything, the tom was more worried than ever. Nectarflower was better off than most, though she still had a bit of a cough. Fennelbreeze-- his heart ached to look at her-- had her usually sweet scent engulfed by the stench of sickness, and Sootstorm would be right next to her steadying her shaky strides if it was not for his son and his former apprentice. Tallshadow and Finchspeckle both seemed to have gotten the worse of it, their thin body shaking with coughs and their movements so slow and shaky he feared they may collapse any moment. Seeing that Tallshadow was at least with Goldenpaw, he moved to Finchspeckle's side, looking around to see if Nectarflower was close-by to help assist as well. The she-cat's body was burning hot, and no matter how much he groomed her it didn't seem to cool down.

Guilt gnawed at Blazefang’s stomach, an awful twisting feeling worse than starvation. Her mate had fallen ill on the journey, and yet Blazefang herself was physically fine. It wasn’t fair. She was stronger than Dayquill, she should have been the one to get sick! Her chances of actually surviving this would be far greater. Voice threatening to break, she called out, “I have a strong shoulder and can take one sick cat! Two if they’re small!” Blazefang can assist someone.
Coughing, Lighttail looked out over the lake. They’d made it here, but at what cost? Every hair on her pelt burned, the fever like nothing she’d ever felt before, and the ground shifted beneath her as if she had a concussion all over again. Looking around, she noted many other cats feeling the same way — or worse. Her kin, Heatherberry and Sunflare, seemed particularly bad. Lighttail is moderately ill.
Sunflare had been holding his mate up as she supported him. The two cats leaned on each other at a terrifying angle as they walked. Coughs racked the skinny tom’s frame, forcing him to slow his pace. Even nestled in Tawnyshadow’s luxurious pelt, Sunflare felt as if ice was creeping through his veins, and yet simultaneously his face and chest seemed to be on fire. He kept moving his paws, but had long since lost his certainty of which way was up. “Cicadasong, are we almost there?” he whispered hoarsely, his cloudy mind mistaking the tortoiseshell fur of his mate for that of his lost sister. Sunflare is severely ill.
Sageroot found herself sprawled on the ground, claws dug into the earth as it flipped, jumped, and spun beneath her. Her face screwed up and she moaned as she tried not to vomit. Every sound buzzed in her ears and she wanted to cover them but couldn’t release the ground for fear of falling into the sky. Sageroot is only moderately ill, but her Sensory Processing Disorder is aggravating the dizziness and causing nausea as well.

Goldenfern was, thankfully, healthier than most of her clanmates. Flysnap was at her side, just as healthy, which she couldnt thank the stars enough for. She didnt know what she'd do if she lost him as well. Sicks cats staggered alongside them, and though she wanted to help them she didn't know what she could do other than risk getting sick as well and rob ThunderClan of another healthy warrior.
____
Flysnap tried not to run off from the crowds of sick cats and plunge into some kind of water to clean himself. His pelt felt dirty and sticky, though he knew it was just his imagination. The dark tabby stayed close to his mother, pressing against her side when a sick cat brushed by.
____
Her lungs were on fire. Finchspeckle felt her legs shake with each step she forced herself to take, trembling like they were in ice-cold water though they burned. Everything burned. The calico had long sinced lost track of where she was heading, only moving towards their destination thanks to the cats around her. Some cat pressed against her, holding her up, but she no longer cared who it was as long as she moved forward.
_____
Larkpaw moved forward sluggishly, her paws burning with a fever that wouldnt leave. Perhaps it was to be expected, with nearly every cat around her coughing or burning. The black she-cat looked around for Sweetpaw.
_____
Berrypaw could hardly walk. Her previous sliw gait slowed to an almost crawl. The pale apprentice struggled forward, trying and failing to make sense of what was going on. Her lungs felt like they were on fire and her mind felt warmer than ever.
