Wilted Petals[C]

Cinderkit was curled up in a small pathetic path of ferns that was her nest. The queen that was supposed to be caring for her was elsewhere, leaving the small speckled kit shivering by herself. Most of the warriors were gone, and none of the kits seemed to be interested in playing with her. The kit stepped out of the "nest", her head too big for her thin legs and her body too similar to a twig. Her paws skidded across the smooth ground, sore pads blistering but she was too sore to notice. The kit stumbled towards a thick-furred apprentice, looking enviously at the she-cat's thick coat. Cinderkit opened her mouth to ask if she could snuggle in the apprentice's coat for a little while, but the words stuck in her throat like ice shards and all the came out was a few painful coughs.
