Beneath the leaves and through the trees (open)

Brightkit trudged out of the camp. He knew he was a kit, but he didn't care. He wanted to hunt. Treading and leaving his paw prints on the ground where the leaves of trees lay, he padded in search of prey. Yet he didn't know what was in store for him.

He thought he saw a large mouse, flicking his golden tail and face towards what he thought was a fairly large mouse. "Fresh kill!" he mewed. He raced towards the black and white mouse and jumped on it, digging his minuscule claws into it. A small leaf fell on his nose, but the so-called mouse turned around and faced the scrawny kit. Its obsidian black eyes glared at the short kit, and it hissed at him.

Brightkit realized it wasn't a mouse, but something much more bigger and something he feared much more: a badger. He scrambled to his paws, the Tom sweating wildly, more trickling down his neck. Instinctively he turned around, flicked his tail on the badger, and ran towards the gorse tunnel, squeaking for help.

The badger was aiming at his tail, but couldn't clearly catch it with him swinging it around on its face wildly. He felt the fear creep up his spine like a snake. "Why did I do this!?" he squealed, racing towards the gorse, his heart throbbing and his paws pounding on the ground, trying to spot the clearing inside the camp to locate it easier. He barely knew the territory, mostly the camp. Luckily, the badger's swipes were easily avoided, but he couldn’t keep running forever.

'Camp Invasion Dice' :

Bluepaw's ears perked up as he had been chilling in the appretnice den. He had not done well on training lately so it really had him down, he wondered why he couldnt be like all the other apprentices who could hunt and fight so much better than himself.


But when he heard little squeals of terror so close to the camp a chill went down his spine as he darted out and quickly his eyes landed on Brightkit being chased by a badger.



We are under attack!!! HELPP

He meowed loudly. His paws froze up even though he knew he had to try and get that kit out of there the fear of fighting was still heavily engrained in his head!

He swallowed hard the words of his mentor coming back to him... What would he do if greenpaw had been hurt?? Thats what Goldenfern had told him when he was scared to do training sparring... he had to be brave now.

One paw in front of the other he first walked then picked it up into a full on sprint at the badger.

He was terrified he didn't wanna fight... he hated fighting but Brightkit was about to be eaten if he didnt act!


With a hiss he threw himself at the badger trying to bide the kit some amount of time!

The badger huffed and raised a big paw over its head and brought it crashing down.

Bluepaw's hearing went muffled as the blow sent him smashing down. Everything got very fuzzy and dizzy as the disoriented apprentice coughed heavily

Brightkit felt the blood surge through his veins as Bluepaw whirled across the clearing. He saw the sandy hollow and realized he was nearing the camp! But he would have to leave Bluepaw behind to rot and get eaten. He switched direction from the gorse towards Bluepaw, charging towards him. Brightkit covered the apprentice's fur with licks, trying to protect him. The badger was growling and hissing, baring its fangs at Brightkit. Brightkit nudged Bluepaw to get up, but Bluepaw was too injured. Brightkit didn't care if he died; he wanted Bluepaw to get up, or else the badger would deliver a final blow and Bluepaw would perish. Fear prickled at Brightkit's fur. He licked Bluepaw faster and faster, his face gaining a frantic expression. He turned around and saw the badger a few fox-lengths away. He squealed in fear. Bluepaw made the situation more scary for him, but Brightkit appreciated the fact that Bluepaw tried to help. He closed his eyes, hoping that Bluepaw would get up from his position, even though Bluepaw was terribly injured. He felt his heart throb and his paws shuffle.

A thin, russet blob lay in the warriors den, her attitude soured by the chilling cold. She had done her best in hunting only to fail most of her attempts. If the scar on her face wasn't a constant reminder of the power of StarClan, she would have cursed them ten-fold. A yawn and stretch came before she curled herself into a tight ball, willing the hunger to go away as she tried her best to sleep. Slumber was within claws reach...

Only for the frantic squeal of a ThunderClan apprentice to rip it away. Bursting through the entrence to the warriors den, Firefly wasted no time in finding the source: Bluepaw, dissappearing just behind the brambles that made up the camps entrance. The warrior bolted out after her, only to be met with the cause of all this: A badger. Her green eyes spotted a kit just barely escaping heavy claws. There was no time for any questions as the badger raised its paw over Bluepaw, slamming it down on her head. A thunderous roar escaped her, a blind rage taking over as she threw herself into the beast, knocking it over and raking claws deep into its belly.

Firefly used Belly Rake, dealing 20 damage and costing 25 SP.

Crocuspaw was the next cat to join the fray, Firefly's war cry rallying her to the cause. Bluepaw's cry had her to her paws, pulling away from her task to see what the yowling was about, but Firefly had her shaken out of her stunned stupor. Crocuspaws were unsheathed as she surged forward, meeting the Badger head-on as it recovered from Firefly's rampaging attack on its belly. She reared on her back paws, placing herself between Bluepaw and Brightkit. Crocuspaw's paws raked and clawed at the Badger's face at least stalling it in its advance on the apprentice, kitten, and camp. A rumble and tightness built up in the young she-cats chest as she swung heartily, finding herself screaming and yowling wordlessly in the face of the danger in front of her.

Crocuspaw used Desperate Blows + Front Paw Strike! Dealing 10 Damage and Costing 7 Stamina.

Brightkit paused and backed away from the badger. The tiny tom panted, and he was glad to see Firefly and Crocuspaw join the fight. Hopefully, they could kill the badger before more harm could be done.

He fell down on his paws, exhausted. He wanted to just run back to the nursery. Why did he even leave it in the first place? They'd probably scold him after they safely returned back to camp. He grumbled and felt the leaves crunch under his paws.

Brightkit could just race back to camp on his own, but he didn't know what to do. He stared back at the conflict with the badger. He felt he had to stay. Using his legs to push him up, he pounced on the badger's back and jabbed it as hard as he could.

Brightkit barely affected the badger, but he did something. He fell off the badger's back and attempted to scurry away and scream, but he didn't want to seem helpless and silently crept away, hoping no one would call him back to scold him for his wrongdoings. The look of fear on his face grew when the badger screeched loudly. He screamed and ran towards the gorse tunnel. He may have felt guilty for leaving the fight, especially after attacking the badger himself, but he couldn't take all the stress.
