The attack on Starclan (open)

The moon had just finished chasing the sun from the horizon and the first of the patrols had been sent out as the assault began. Loud cracks exploded in the sky in dazzling displays of light and color, each explosion granting its own hue to the earth below. Sablestrike's fur stood on end as the sky continued to burst. "An attack on Starclan..." The tom breathed. The source was unknown but it was undoubtedly an attack of sorts aimed at their ancestors. No stars moved to combat the enemy, perhaps it couldn't quite reach them? Not that that had stopped them from pouring into the sky in an endless stream, though perhaps they were being dealt with. Each crack ended in the light fading into the darkness only to be replaced by a new attacker. It was almost as if whatever those things were knew that their attacks would end in their own demise but just didn't care.

Rookfire hated fireworks with a burning passion.

The loud noises and flashing lights were horrendous to deal with. He'd never seen fireworks in the Clans, but he had experience from the life he lived as a kittypet. Every greenleaf, Twolegs shot fireworks into the sky. (At least, he assumed it was Twolegs; they seemed to be a Twoleg-only thing, after all. He still didn't know why they shot the flaming bursts into the sky. Maybe they found it fun, or they wanted to recreate the beauty of a sunset. He had no clue.

He still remembered one of his Twolegs try to comfort him when the fireworks started bleeping. "It's alright, Harris. It's just fireworks. I don't like them, either."

At Sablestrike's concerned statement on it being an attack on StarClan, Rookfire blinked. He had never thought of them like that. "When I was in Twolegplace, I saw these before. Twolegs launch them into the sky." The black tuxedo sighed. "Maybe they're attacking StarClan, but I've seen them launched at starless skies, so I'm not sold on that." Attacking StarClan in a starless sky was pretty pointless, so there had to be another reason that these Twolegs used them. It can't be just to bother cats and Twolegs.

Swiftheart heard the loud cracks and smiled happily. Jumping and skipping her way over she cheered happily "WHOOOP LETS GOO!!! I dunno what those things are but I love em!!!" she meowed so excited and happy.


Some cats belived that they were "attacking starclan" but she didnt belive that. If anything maybe it was just the twolegs way of celebrating starclan too... besides their ancestors never said that those things hurt em.


She gazed at the bright flashes of colour in the sky in awe.

"ohhh look a green one!" she cheered.

well, at least someone was having fun.

A wink of sleep hadn't even been Heatherberry's intention, yet there she was scrambling to her feet, heart racing beneath midnight fur. The banging had come with no warning, following lights that blinded for mere heartbeats in their wake. Coming to a skidding halt outside the medicine cat den, green eyes fixed on the still forms of her clanmates, confusion taking the place of fear. Were they... Not under attack?

The voice of Rookfire caught her attention first, paws carrying her to him. Fireworks... She understood to 'fire' part, but the rest was lost. She wouldn't have put it past StarClan to not even send an SOS beforehand, either.

...Actually, maybe this would keep the merciless stars quiet. Their help was always vague anyway.

Instead, she took a hesitant seat beside Crowspirit, a smile on her maw as she watched the excitment of Swiftheart. Her own eyes turned up to the sky, taking in the different colors and sparkles these 'fireworks' left in their wake. She might even prefer them over the stars.

Swiftheart purred happy as ever getting to see the fireworks light up the sky. The loud noise didnt bother her at all. It was well worth the magnificent colors that lit up starpelt now.

She gave a happy and playful nudge to her daughter crowspirit, happy to see her. They really should have more mother daughter time Swiftheart thought to herself, maybe she could go hunting with Crowspirit soon, or something.


It seemed no one would sleep with all this going on as more of her clanmates joined.

She gave a friendly and extraverted outgoing wave to the med cat Heatherberry and to Magpiepaw.

She didnt know the apprentice super well but she loved meeting new friends. She liked the apprentice's spirt and attitude to defend the camp as he had sleepily awoken to the noise.
She gave a little giggle watching as he slowly woke up more.

She settled down with her friends and watched the night sky being lit up.

"They are so pretty!" she purred happy,

"I'm sure they are not even close to reaching starclan dont worry sable. Besides maybe our ancestors are enjoying the show just as much as we are she suggested positivly.

Swiftheart would always be the one to suggest such a positive alternative

Snowfoot padded over to join Swiftheart, the colors dancing in her eyes. It figured that this was a Twoleg thing. The blasted creatures were always so loud and brash. Still, Swiftheart was right. How could something so loud be so beautiful. “Maybe it’s how they celebrate ceremonies?” Snowfoot offered. “I don’t know what kind of traditions they have, but they seem to live in groups like us. We can certainly be loud when a new apprentice or warrior is named.” The black and white she-cat turned to notice Magpiepaw. “It’s pretty cool, huh? The Twolegs do this from time to time. We’re not sure why, though. Stay away from Twolegs, Magpiepaw. Their colors are pretty but they steal cats and lock them away in their nests.”
