Let's Get Going Again [Open! Tunnelers!]

Sheepishly, Nectarflower padded up to the small group of cats, her tail twitching uncomfortably. She had been surprised to catch wind of what Coyotegrin and Kestrelchirp were up to, having heard little of the tunnels until recently. The tortoiseshell she-cat was a little unsure if she would be welcomed since she hadn't been invited. Rather word of mouth had gotten the rumor to her that Coyotegrin wanted to restore the tunnels to their former glory.

She wasn't sure how much use she would be with her quickly growing belly, but it couldn't hurt to try. Nectarflower was a slender cat with long limbs and a silk-like coat. Even the most unobservant of cats would be able to tell the...difference in her. She was nervous. Particularly around Coyotegrin and Kestrelchrip - both cats who Nectarflower didn't know very well or at all even. Luckily, Rosepaw was here and knowing that eased some of the young warrior's concerns.

Would any cat ask? She had yet to formally announce that she was expecting, and cats were surely going to wonder who the father was. Not many knew that she and Weaselfoot were briefly together despite never being mates. Maybe if things had gone differently, they would have been.

Regardless, there was no point in wishing things were any different than they were. All she could do was make the best of the situation and try to build a good support network for her and her future kits. Voice soft but warm, Nectarflower stopped next to Rosepaw, a shaky smile on her face. Why was she so nervous? These were her clanmates for Starclan's sake! "Hi Rose!" Nectarflower forced a more cheerful smile to her face, but it was a poor attempt.

"I know I won't be very much help to you right now, but I've always wondered about the tunnels..." She shrugged, somewhat apologetically before glancing at Kestrelchirp, feeling completely and utterly at a loss. She was probably too round already to fit into most tunnels - not that she would really want to while she was expecting. Still, there was bound to be some way to make herself useful.

Nectarflower looked to the side at the sound of approaching paw steps and dipped her head when Smallstar and Tigerdance approached, offering a slight dip of her head in greeting to the two toms. She'd not gotten to spend much time with them, but maybe that would change today. She remained silent, however, feeling somewhat out of place being the youngest and least experienced of all of the gathered cats. This felt like a private meeting between important cats that she had somehow stumbled upon and had no business being a part of.

However, the feeling of eyes on her drew Nectarflower from her thoughts and she looked over, spotting Kestrelchirp staring directly at her. Was he thinking the same thing as her? Did he also think that she didn't belong? Then, Coyotegrin nudged him, and he was broken from whatever thoughts were plaguing him. With an awkward hum, the tortoiseshell she-cat dipped her head to lick self-consciously at her chest fur.

Maybe she had something in her fur? Or it was possible he just happened to zone out while looking at her. Yes, that must be it. He was definitely not at all curious about her ever-growing belly - nope. Thankfully, Coyotegrin broke the awkward tension, drawing Nectarflower from her musings. She nodded, suddenly forgetting about her anxieties in the face of learning something new.

The tunnels - she had heard about them from the older cats but had yet to explore any of them. For the most part, she had dismissed them as a thing of the past. Though, now that the tradition was being revived, she couldn't resist at least showing up and poking around a bit. Hauling herself to her paws, the young warrior cast her gaze toward Kestrelchirp, who had been assigned to guide her through some of the tunnels. "I'm ready when everyone else is."
