They were growing as a clan again, despite the hardships they had faced the past few moons, there were plenty of kits, and kits soon became apprentices. The more cats they had in hunting and fighting shape the better. At least to Tigerdance. Today another kit would be made an apprentice, another cat in their ranks. It was a good thing. Gracefully the lanky tom jumped up on the Tall Rock and called out to his clan. "Let all cats old enough to run the moor gather under Tall Rock for a clan meeting!"

Another kit of his was to be a warrior, this time his swift-footed Quickkit. Sootstorm gave his daughter a comforting smile, admiring her sleek white coat and the point at which her ears stood, exactly the same as Ferntwist's. His mates condition had not improved since birthing their litter, and she mostly remained in the nursery or the medicine cat den. He was worried about his mate, but for now what mattered was that he was there for his kits. His eyes darted to Tigerdance, and silently he prayed that whoever was to mentor Quickkit, they would protect her.

This place is pretty dead... By which I mean, there's nothing to kill.

Palekit stood at the nursery entrance, blue eyes curiously trained on the ceremony. He had been too young before to attend such ceremonies. He was still too young, but now he was at least old enough to understand what was going on. The ginger tom gave his denmate a close-eyed grin, before returning his focus on the tabby on the rock.

Quickkit was excited to hear the call for a clan meeting, as Dustk- paw her brother had become an apprentice only yesterday, still hard to say Dustpaw instead of Dustkit. As she had gone over eyes shining, eagerly anticipating the next words out of the deputy's mouth. It was hard to believe she was going to be an apprentice. To know what it was like to hunt, to use her claws. She looked over next to her, and met her fathers gaze. A comforting smile from him it felt, well… comforting.

Duskkit watched the proceedings from the medicine den. Her cough was mostly cleared up now, but she’d have to wait for it to be gone completely before she could become an apprentice. For now, she didn’t mind waiting. The skinny kit offered Sootstorm’s kits a purr and a friendly flick of the tail.

Once Tigerdance spotted the kit that was supposed to be becoming an apprentice today, he continued with the ceremony. "Today another kit joins the apprentices. Quickkit please come forward." The tall tom stated, giving a moment for the mentioned kit to approach the Tall Rock. "Quickkit you have reached the age of six moons, from this moment on you will be known as Quickpaw. Your mentor will be Nectarflower. I hope she passes all she knows onto you." With that the ceremony was over and the deputy jumped off the rock.

Nectarflower, like like ghost, padded toward the center of the camp at Tigerdance's call. She had yet to recover from Weaselfoot's death, but in the past few days, she had begun to learn how to live with her loss. The empty hollow on her chest would likely never be filled, but the very least she could do was take care of herself and Windclan.

Still, she was often downtrodden and irritable, lashing out at Starclan in particular for the injustice of it all. After a moment, the tortoiseshell she-cat settled down, only half listening to whatever ceremony today would bring. Ah - Quickkit, another of Sootstorm and Ferntwist's litter. Nectarflower still remembered her own apprentice ceremony. The joy that bubbles in her chest, the excitement that brightened her eyes and made her knead the ground with happiness.

That was before Shadowclan killed two or her clanmates and captured the other. And also before Weaselfoot was killed. Nectarflower sucked in a deep breath before suddenly jolting back to reality. Her name - she'd just heard her name.

The young warrior lifted her head to find several cats staring expectantly at her. She replayed the last few minutes in her head before her jaw dropped open. Was she...supposed to be Quickkit -Quickpaw's mentor? Slowly, Nectarflower got to her paws and approached Quickpaw, her eyes wide.

She didnt feel ready. She wasn't ready. What if she messed up? Could she even train an apprentice properly with her mindset so far gone? Worry after worry ran through Nectarflower's mind but regardless, she dipped her head to touch noses with Quickpaw. "I'll do my best." She meowed.

Quickkit was awestruck, just hearing the deputy say it was time for her to step forward. The moments of anticipation were unbearable. She listened as he meowed. I’m Quickpaw now she had thought with excitement. An actual apprentice! Then her mentor would be Nectarflower, as Nectarflower had gone over to her she was bursting with excitement ..and yet something felt a bit off. She had stared at Nectarflower the whole time she walked over, and noticed she was a little wide-eyed. Quickpaw guessed she wasn’t expecting to mentor an apprentice yet. She couldn’t blame Nectarflower for that so she quickly forgot about the thought, excitement quickly returning. She lifted her head to touch noses with Nectarflower as she meowed that she'll do her best. “I'll do my best too!” She meowed

"Quickpaw! Quickpaw!" Sootstorm cheered, green eyes shining with pride. Nectarflower had been through a lot, but she was still his first apprentice, and he wouldn't trust anyone else with the life of his kits. The tom padded up to the duo. "You'll do well," He purred when he was close enough to the she-cat, "You both will."
