Sunflare was anxious. Anxious of the situation with WindClan, and of the trouble brewing in ShadowClan’s own camp. And lately it seemed ThunderClan had been a bit prickly too. It was because of all this that Sunflare invited his father for a spar. Rookfire wasn’t the strongest cat physically, but he was intelligent and experienced and Sunflare felt they would be an even match.

“Feel free to attack first, Father,” he mewed. Sunflare was best in defense, though his father probably didn’t know that. Yet.

Rookfire had felt anxious about this conflict for a while now.

So when his son, Sunflare, asked him if he wanted to spar, just to take the edge off, he happily accepted. Sparring was one of the black tuxedo's favorite pastimes, even if he didn't do so as often as he would have liked.

When his son told him he could go first, Rookfire smirked. "Alright," the black tuxedo said, watching his son for an opening. "You're gonna regret it." It was... interesting, hearing that Sunflare was willing to let him attack first. It probably meant Sunflare was confident in his defensive fighting, to willingly give up the advantage like that. Rookfire would have to be smart with his strikes.

Perhaps he could pull a certain trick from his back pocket.

He had second thoughts, of course. It really wasn't something he wanted to do to his own son. At the same time, Sunflare could probably handle it. And there were no true rules to fighting, so he might need to learn how to defend himself against that.

Taking a deep breath in, the black tuxedo rammed himself into his son's chest, knocking him backward. He didn't strike him like he would in a real battle, but he was sure it could have surprised him. And with that, who knows how the match could turn out?

Rookfire used Sanctum Strike on Sunflare, dealing 8 damage and costing 10 stamina. Sunflare is stunned for one turn.

Sunflare had thought he was prepared. He was prepared to fall back and go for the underbelly as he usually did. However, that move depended on his opponent trying to jump on him, not just slamming straight into his chest. “What was that?” he panted, shocked. The cinnamon tom wasn’t offended, but he had never seen this before.

Sunflare is stunned.

Rookfire smirked at his son's surprised statement. "Remember the stories I told you about the Asylum? I learned this attack from them." Now that he thought about it, he never gave any of his kits a lot of details about his battle training. Maybe he should amend that story later on.

Keeping his claws sheathed, the black tuxedo struck his son at the face with his paw, before jumping back. If Sunflare was to attack him, he'd be ready.

Rookfire used Front Paw Strike at Sunflare, dealing 8 damage and costing 7 stamina.
