Sweet Hearts and Mossballs [open]

Sootstorm had been staying close to the nursery for days, popping in every few heartbeats to check up on Ferntwist to the point that his mate had refused him entry into the nursery, leaving the tom sulking outside of the entrance. He perked up instantly when he heard the sweet mew of a kit. He peered down at the she-kit, who looked no older than a moon, clutching a mossball in her jaws. "Of course!" He purred, cooing on the inside. How could he refuse? Kits were so cute, and this one seemed even cuter than usual! Not cuter than his kits, of course, but still adorable.

Sootstorm nodded, dropping into a croushing position and giving the kit a playful glare. It was obvious that the kit was eager to play, and who could say no to such a precious kit? "I'm waiting~" He purred.

The ball sailed over his head before he could even react. Sootstorm blinked in surprise, then let out a purr, "My, you're quite fast! You'll make a wonderful Windclan warrior!" With a light laugh, he bounded away to retrieve the mossball. He returned, ball clamped loosely in his jaws. "Try and catch this!" He mewed playfully, tossing the ball up into the air. It was such a nice feeling to be able to play again, something he had not done properly since he was made an apprentice.

Sootstorm laughed as Chicorykit missed the mossball. The kit's embarrassed expression was just too cute. The ball was coming at him again, and he raised a paw to catch the mossball mid-air. His claws snagged the moss, and he brought it down swiftly. "That's another point to me!" He purred, playfully batting the ball back towards the she-kit.
