A heavy shake of a russet-and-black stripped head allowed Firefly to regain focus. But not soon enough: a fluffy form - her eyes shut tight for some reason - slid not even halfway under her before coming to a full stop, sweeping Firefly's paws right from under her. Frantically trying to remain on all fours, her left front paw landing on something rather soft and squishy-

A high-pitched squeak sounded, drawing green eyes to look down in fear: she'd just crushed ThunderClan's deputy! She removed her self immediately, finally just hitting the ground in one big, winded huff. "S... Sorry.. I didn't mean to step on you..." She may have won, but it had been just as taxing a spar as the last: had Acornstem perfectly executed such a tough move, Firefly definitely would have lost.

She lay not far from the winded deputy, gladly allowing her to catch her breath so she could also catch hers.

Acornstem laid there, panting as she slowly managed to catch her breath - thought her dignity was clearly swept downriver. She turned her head to where Firefly had collapsed, a smile working her way across her muzzle. "Seems...We both gotten stronger - but still in the same nest as before," she said, followed by a laugh. Their first spar had ended with a near victory by Acornstem, only to lose...And it seems this one followed the same pattern - thought the ending was far different. She let out a dramatic sigh, throwing her paw over her face - a smile curling at the corner of her muzzle. "But oh, to lose to such a dirty trick - a rogue paw of all things! How ever will I recover from such a shameful lost?"

"I really did get worried there for a second - you still fight just as hard as I do." She returned Acornstems laugh with a light one of her own. Only for it to cut short as the deputy let out a sigh, covering her face with a paw. Missing the playful smile the squirrel-like deputy was wearing. Russet ears flattened lightly against her head.

The first thought she had was that Acornstem was accusing her of not fighting fair; the second was the feeling of dread that she had caused her to feel like this was a shameful loss. "N-no! If I hadn't been so clumsy, you definitely would have gotten the upper paw! You gave it your all just like last time and I always look forward to our spars-" As Firefly rolled over to face Acornstem, she finally noticed the playful grin she wore. Face began to heat up slightly with embarrassment for not catching the joke. "Oh. You were only joking." The foolishness of not getting it the first time did make Firefly genuinely laugh, both at Acornstem's silliness and her own inability to pick up on social cues. One day she'd learn.
