Owlpaw's Moonstone Journey

Owlpaw awoke with a start, while groggy from having to awaken so early he did his best not to complain and push through. After all he was supposed to be traveling to the moonstone with Sandyshell. They both needed to be alert on the way there. As he stepped out of the den where the rest of his companions laid. "Have you ever gotten used to this?" He asked the medicine cat softly as he prepared for the trip, trying to remain quiet not to disturb the quiet camp. He didn't know if he could do this super often but maybe the repetition is what helped make it easier. He didn't mind matching her pace, she knew the path better than he ever would after all.

Owlpaw was quick to consume the herbs handed over to him, doing his best to keep a straight face while the bitter flavors coated his togue. He didn't like the way they tasted but he knew they were important for the trip so he wasn't going to complain like he knew some of the other apprentices would have. "Either." He responded simply when it came to the or question. Both were good to know. Quickly he fell in step by the she-cats side. "I'm glad there is something to help you, I couldn't imagine how exhausting this would be if there wasn't traveling herbs."

Owlpaw nodded at Sandyshell's instructions. The moonstone stood before him, shining brilliantly. It was beautiful that was for sure. The large brown tom settled down at the stone, pressing his nose gently to it, ignoring the chill that ran down his spine.

Just as he was admiring himself in the reflection of a star filled pond, a blue-eyed pest appeared, disturbing his me-time. He knew what he had been expected to do and say, but he was dead now. He didn't have to do anything anyone said, especially now.

His emerald green gaze turned back to his reflection where he viewed the sides of his face from every angle. "Being a warrior wasn't all that fun, by the way." Muted calico tail flicked behind him in irritation when he thought about the way he had died. It hadn't been his fault. Now he had to share a ghostly world with the cat he killed and the one who killed him in retaliation. Oh. And his dumb sister.

"Take it from me: your time is valuable and precious. Work? Do the bare minimum because it'll all end the exact same way: you here with me." This wasn't really a threat, since it was an honor to be anywhere near Batswarm. Even more so now in his ethereal form. But it was genuine warning to slow down and enjoy what was around you. "If you're all about the clan life, so be it. Never could get into myself. But just... Take it easy. It's fine to be lazy. Ignore anyone who tries to make you feel guilty or living your life before it's over." He heaved a great sigh, disturbing the stardust that rested on his muzzle. "Any questions?"
