What a Weird Family This is

Stormwatcher woke up suddenly from his nap in the sun. He breathed heavily fully freaked out. He sat up quickly and batted at the empty air before him and hissed angerly. When he blinked more at the sudden light and sun he realized that the bad dream he had been having was just that, only a dream. In it however the clan was in the middle of some big fight and he had been getting his tail beaten bad in it. Some riverclan cat had him pinned to the ground and was wailing on him as the rest of their camp got toasted to a crisp as well. He still had crazy amounts of nervous energy from it even now. Glancing around he waited a bit.


Throughout the day however the dream haunted him, he had felt so unprepared and helpless during it all. And while he was not one to usually take action on anything today was the start of something new and different for him. He never wanted to feel that helpless ever again. And while he would never admit that he had cats he cared about here ... he knew he did. If something happened to Bird, or wolf or stone ... and now also too silver he couldnt let that happen.

The list of cats on that list was getting longer something he didn't appreciate that kept happening. How was he getting suckered into caring again?

Sighing he was about to head out of camp when he spotted his old apprentice Stoneheart and also Wolfblossom too. In a bit of an odd sense he viewed Wolfblossom as his "older sister" and he viewed Stoneheart as his "younger sister". None of them were related via blood at all. Still, thats how he saw it, would he ever be caught dead saying such a thing?? Absolutely not!!

What happened next probably never had happened in the history of Stormwatcher. He went over to them and asked if she would want to spar to practice their skills. That's right, the lazy mans actually asked for a task and not only that a sparing session?? He was known to not be much of a fighter. But that dream must have really shook him cause now about the only thing on his mind (aside from when his next nap would be) was training like a madman till he gained a level of confidence that he could protect himself... and deep down also protect those he cared about.

"Come on lets go train some. Stars know I could use the practice and just because you are a warrior now does not mean I dont still have a responsibility to keep your fighting skills up too" He grumbled. He glanced at his "older sister" as well "You can come too?" he offered. Having wolf around didnt seem like such a bad idea now. Did he belive in fate in that the dream would come true? No but at the same time... the stars were known for being a bit goofy in how they did things, besides it wasnt like that was a starclan dream... right? Right??? In either case having Wolf around seemed like a good idea. IF there was any danger he was pretty sure she could handle half a clan on her own anyways. With the three of them he doubted anything would be dumb enough to attack them... well besides for maybe blood but for now he seemed to be on their team now that the whole falcon thing seemed to have calmed down


He led the way over to the sparing area. "Alright come on" he waved his paw towards himself "Come on attack me Stoneheart let's see what ya got no holding back"

Stoneheart was slightly surprised that Stormwatcher had approached her at all, but her face remained impassive as she glanced up at her former mentor. Stormwatcher... Asking to spar? Well, Stoneheart wasn't going to question it. And she could do with some battle practice, anyways. "Sure," She nodded, and wasted no time in launching herself forward. Her claws remained sheathed, of course, but if Stormwatcher had asked to spar, she wasn't going to hold back.

Stoneheart used Jumping Strike on Stormwatcher for -7 sp, dealing -10+3 damage.

Wolfblossom glanced up as Stormwatcher approached, turning slightly to hide the smug smile as he asked Stoneheart to spar with him. He wasn't completely a lost cause, even if he was lazier than she would have liked any Skyclan warrior to be. But he was asking Stoneheart to spar, perhaps her nagging did have an effect after all. "I'll watch, I'd like to see how both of you handle yourselves." She mewed.

Stormwatcher for once in his life actually looked focused.  he smacked back at Stoneheart quickly.

Wolfblossom was watching out for anything that might be coming like in his dream so he was free to focus on the spar practice.  

He jumped at her wanting to overwealm with his bigger size and weight advantage.  It was not usual for him to actually try this hard at all.

Stormwatcher leaped at her, large paws pinning Stoneheart to the ground. That was usually her tactic, and she growled up at him, though it wasn't serious. Stoneheart attempted to roll sharply to one side in an effort to throw him off-balance. She didn't manage to throw him off completely, but his grip should be loosened anyways.

Stoneheart used Duck and Twist for -5 sp, dealing -4 damage. Escape failed.

His sparing partner tried to escape but luckily he managed to hold on a bit longer. He growled back but it also was not serious. If anything, he was focused alot when he was actually trying. He wanted to try and provide as challenging a fight as possible to Soneheart.

In part it was to reassure himself that she could handle herself. Although he would never say such a thing aloud that was the truth of it.

Because, deep down even though he tried to hide it in layers of laziness and attitude he really did care about her. She was his apprentice and it felt like the one good thing he had accomplished in his life was getting to train her.

If Wolf could have read his mind he would have gone crazy since he would never admit all this even though it might have already been clear to the deputy that the mentor-apprentice duo was a strong connection all be it a bit of a strange pairing.

The fact that the lazy guy was even out here AND had even been the one to suggest this probably already showed Wolf that Storm did have a bit of a soft spot for Stone.


He smacked at his former apprentice with his front paws. He was extra aware to keep claws in so as not to hurt her. The spar was to be as real as possible without causing actual harm or sending anyone to the med den.

Shoving to her paws as Stormwatcher's paw caught her shoulder, the gray she-cat leaped into the low-hanging branch of a tree... Only to just as quickly leap toward her former mentor, sending the pair to the ground with a smug look as her paws shoved at him. He didn't think she wouldn't return the favor surely, especially not with the deputy also watching.

Stormwatcher glanced as his apprentice hopped tree to tree and then on him.  When did she learn that!? He let out a grunt as he got smacked and pinned down.

He did his best to twist out of it trying to throw her off

It worked! He tossed her aside and got back up to his paws. Fancy.. and on most opponents that probably would have worked… but I’m still bigger than you he thought to himself but didn’t say that. He was proud of his apprentice but was not going to go easy on her. To ease his mind he needed to make sure she could defend herself

Stormwatcher twisted out of her grasp, and Stoneheart wouldn't admit to being a little peeved that she hadn't managed it earlier. There was still plenty to go in this sparring session, though. She'd just have to work harder to kick her old mentor's tail.

Using his larger size to his advantage Storm scooped up his former apprentice and gripped her so that she had limited moving space.  At this point it was all about trying to control the opponent and getting them into a position where counterplay was limited.

Stormwatcher had gotten a hold on her scruff, and Stoneheart's tail lashed in frustration. She couldn't twist her way out of his grip, and her paws flailed, striking at out her former mentor in retaliation.

Stormwatcher did not let his grip go at all and continued to further confine his opponent squeezing the space available to any opposistion. This was taking alot of work and he was having to try his absolute best something he rarely did.

However he could tell that the match was so close and if he could keep this up he had a solid chance.


He risked a quick glance to the deputy wondering what in the world she thought of all this.
