Sleet had been studying how the clan worked, and although the explanations for the rules were somewhat choppy and hard to understand, she thought she understood the gist of things. Clan cats hunted for each other, not just themselves. An odd system, but it was one she could oblige and it made sense. Sleet waited early that morning for the patrol to gather, choosing to sleep in a tree earlier that night. Once she saw the first patrol group up and get ready to head off, Sleet dropped from the tree and approached the patrol. "I go too," She said simply. "I help." She wasn't argued with, and she set off with the patrol. She had no idea if her companions wanted to come along or not, but she didn't imagine they would be told no.
Sleet observed the... rather sloppy hunting methods of the clan cats, but she held her tongue. They were domestic cats... it would be unfair to expect them to hold a candle to the true wild beasts f the world. Still, it was enough that they survived here. Once Sleet felt like it was appropriate for her to try, she spotted a rabbit. She was like a silver ghost as she slunk into a crouch and began to approach the rabbit. All sound beneath her paws ceased even as she moved at a brisk pace and weaved between tree trunks as smoothly as the wind.
Natural Instinct is active! +1 Success Roll to all hunting rolls!
Sleet attempted to catch a rabbit, she was SUCCESFUL! -3SP
Sleet killed the rabbit before it had any time to screech or react. It's death was swift and sudden, and the rabbit had left the world to join it's brethren in the afterlife before it had any idea that it was dead. Sleet brought the rabbit back to show the patrol, to show how still the body was. Her kill had been so efficient that death throes were absent. She buried the body between two roots of an oak tree, confident that she could find it again later. She hoped her skills had impressed the Thunderclanners thus far.

Murkyripple
“I welcome the shadows like a long-lost friend.”
The first patrol of the day was the last patrol of her evening. It had become more and more commonplace for the she-cat to patrol during the night, and as such, made it a ritual to spend the "first" patrol of the day to communicate and bond with her clanmates. Sure, she found herself existing during the actual waking hours more often, especially with her siblings having mostly earned their warrior names, but there were still occasions that she would have rather been in her nest sound asleep.
This was not one of those cases.
To say she was drawn in by the feral cats that were in their camp was an understatement. Murkyripple found their movements particularly graceful, and studying how the silver-toned feline in front of her hunted was hauntingly beautiful. It was a skill and set of movements she wished to live up to, and the note to question the more feral cat to teach her that hunting style was tucked away neatly. Even if she wanted to gawk and learn, she still had a job to do first.
Her amber gaze had made it its sole mission to study every movement that Sleet made, attempting to analyze it as she split off from the group to find a quarry of her own. The slightest chittering caught her attention of a particularly plump squirrel - her mother's favorite. It made her whiskers twitch as she considered the prey, certainly not as impressive as the swiftly caught rabbit, but prey was prey. She couldn't be picky in an attempt to impress. Finding her shelter amidst the shadow of the tree trunks, the warrior made her movements soft and as deadly as she could. Her tail was kept just above the ground, but low enough to continue to keep her balance as she slid forward like a silent leaf.
It was easy enough, with the creature noticing her all too late. Prying her catch from where it had attempted to embed itself within the tree, she crossed to where the mostly-unfamiliar feline now stood. Setting her squirrel down, Murkyripple tilted her head. "You hunt beautifully. Will you teach me how you do it?" The inquisitive, praising look in her eyes didn't get passed to just anyone. But she hoped it would make up for whatever communication barrier existed, her body language translating alongside her words themselves.
Murkyripple attempts to catch a squirrel. Success! -3SP

Frond had really not expected to have a “wild” cat along on this patrol. Sure, kittypets called the Clans wild cats, but these were truly beasts of a different nature, like the difference between a Twoleg pet and a guard dog. He eyed the unfamiliar feline warily as their patrol padded along, wondering where and how these thing had come to the Clans. What was this one’s name? Snow? Sl- Sleet, he decided. Right. Sleet. Almost a Clan name, and certainly more similar than many of the loners he’d met. Time to see what she could do, he guessed.
Standing back, Frond watched the silver she-cat hunt. Her stance was impressive, the soundlessness of her steps even more so, and the savage way she killed the rabbit within heartbeats was, frankly, amazing. It was a talented kill, no doubt, on a prey ThunderClanners often failed to catch, but he was mildly certain he could’ve pulled that one off himself, on this particular rabbit at this particular time, even if it wouldn’t have been nearly as impressive.
Frond nodded to the feral cat, then turned away, scenting the air. There might be more rabbit where that one came from, and in the bounties of new-leaf, he could afford to try trickier prey. One of the other patrol members- Murkyripple- engaged the newcomer in conversation, and so Frond slunk off deeper into the undergrowth, letting the sound of their voices fade. The smell of rabbit lingered around a hole in the ground. Frond started half-heartedly digging, hoping to startle one out. It seemed the one the wild cat had caught might’ve been the only one in that particular warren, and he trailed back to the patrol, idly listening to the conversation.
Rolling for rabbit, roll failed.

Hank followed close behind Sleet, his feet silently padding across the earth below. He was hungry, but in the short time he had spent with these pets, he observed that prey wasn't eaten until it was brought home and shared amongst the elderly and kits.
This was not a practice he was familiar with, hunting being mostly a solo act. But for these little guys, he would abide by their customs.
A bird with a long beak pecking into the wood of a nearby tree caught his attention, Instinct making his red body sink into the ground below. Watching carefully, he made his move, launching with clearly defined leg muscles.
Rolling for bird, missed.
Just as Hanks large claws dug into the tail feathers of the bird, it struggled free and flew off, leaving black and red feathers to float to the ground. He seemed unfazed by it. The others would fill their clans belly without too much of his help.

Aurelia shot Sleet a grin as she caught the rabbit. The hunting skills of these domestic clan cats were certainly lacking in comparison, but they seemed to survive just fine in these woods. After so long spent traveling, Aurelia could admit she was glad to be in one place, one that seemed to be relatively safe too, though she was still wary of the domestic cats and struggled to truly understand them. Still, they seemed willing to help, and if this was where she stayed, Aurelia would help them in turn.
A soft rustling had the golden-spotted tabby glancing up, spotting a blackbird among the trees. Without another thought, she leaped into the branches after it. It was odd, she reflected, how these clan cats seemed to prefer staying on the ground, but prey was prey and Aurelia had no qualms about going into the branches after it.
Unfortunately, today was not her day either, it seemed. The wind shifted, and the bird took flight. Aurelia let out a soft growl of frustration, landing lightly back on the ground below. It wouldn't stop her from trying, of course, they all needed to eat somehow, but she couldn't help but feel mildly embarrassed at the failure.
Aurelia attempted to catch a bird for -3 sp. Catch failed.

The new guests of Thunderclan sure were a scary bunch. Still, Goldenfern had to admit that they were decent hunters, and they hadn't done anything wrong... yet. She still had not forgotten the dogs that had killed Sunfire and Honeypaw, and these feral cats were eerily similar. The golden tabby sighed as she caught the admiring looks some of her clanmates had on their faces. Hopefully she wasn't alone in the thought that these strangers did not belong in the heart of Thunderclan, sleeping just a few fox-lengths away from the nursery.
Catching the scent of vole, Goldenfern shook her head to clear her mind of her thoughts and began heading in the vole's direction. Placing each paw as softly as she could, the tabby slowly crept up to the prey. Goldenfern pounced onto the vole, killing it with a swift bite, then carried it back to the patrol.

Sleet watched the success and failures of the rest of the patrol, hiding a smirk from Aurelia and Hank. It was all in good fun, but right now might not be the time to talk smack to her companions. Not in front of these clan cats at least. A cat that caught a squirrel spoke to her, and Sleet stared, trying to understand. It took a bit longer than normal conversation would have, but she slowly pieced together what was said. "I just... feel." Sleet said, casting an apologetic look at the molly. She didn't know the words well enough to explain that she had only been shown how to hunt a handful of times from her mother. After that, it was gut instinct and practice.
"This feeling... some things... difficult to teach... one just knows." It was probably not the answer the molly wanted, but it was the truth. She quickly added, "Your form... not bad. Timing and... way you take life... practice. Practice often." She really wished she knew the word for "technique" in the domestic language. She looked back at her companions and suddenly... decided messing with them would be fun.
"Hank and Aurelia... awful. Hopeless. Dead before cold times, I think." She gave them a devilish grin over her shoulder before she bounded after a bird that thought it was hidden from view of the patrol behind some leaves. He claws reached out and swiped for it. Sleet was a silver flash among the leaves. The bird's neck was broken upon impact with the ground. Not a single sound was made nor a single flinch of it's lifeless body occurred. Sleet gave her companions an obnoxious wink... and was ready to bolt if they decided hunting her would be fun.
