Batsong said nothing as she entered as well. Following in she slept by the stone.
------------------
Once asleep and in the starclan land she looked around and a distance away a familiar figure appeared.
"Swiftspirit?! Mom!"
Hard to believe it was really her. Swiftspirit was always the one to give Bat her omens but usually bat just heard her voice as her chosen starclan cat not actually get to see her like this.
She sat by her mothers side just enjoying for a couple seconds that she was here. Alot of bad things were happening now and alot of them were her own fault but just having a couple seconds to forget about them were priceless. She would have liked to stay here longer but knew their time was limited, starclan dreams did not last long and there was much advise she wanted to ask her mom while she had the chance.
She sighed heavily resting her head on Swiftspirits shoulder for a bit.
"I really goofed up mom" she was sure that swift knew what all had happened... maybe its why starclan let her actually see her mom this time.
"I thought so much what I was doing was right... but after I got home and everyone pointed out how stupid I was... I dont know... I have never had something where I was so confident that I was doing the right thing only for afterwards to reflect on it to see how bad a decision it was. I'm sorry I feel like I let you down, when I first became medicine cat you said that you were sure I could do a good job she looked down at her paws in shame "I don't feel like I have done a good job like you thought I would."
She slowly lifted her head off her mothers shoulder. She needed Swiftspirits guidence and advise now more than ever and needed some tough love. She didn't want swift to feel like Bat was still her kit now. Bat was fully grown now and needed to ask Swift serious things. She sat up straighter.
"I cant change the past... but I need your help moving forward. Tell it to me straight and bluntly, what do you think I should do?"
she looked at her paws again finding it hard to even meet her moms eyes feeling so ashamed.
"I ... I have been thinking of stepping down as med cat. I want to hear your opinion on that. I will of course stay until my apprentice is fully ready... and I would ask Small and Shrikes advise as well of course too before doing anything rash... But I want to know from you what you think of that?
she had no idea what to expect her mother to say to all this. She was willing to hear any advise her mother now had for her but she hoped so much that at least her mother would understand... she could take tough love and even wanted it right now to know what to do... but she just hoped that swiftspirit would still want her as her daughter even after all this mess she had caused.

"Batsong," Swiftspirit’s greeting was warm, though it was tempered by the expression she wore. Oh, on one paw she had been proud to see Batsong speak up, especially in front of a crowd like that but... She had truly stepped in it by doing so. Swiftspirit had watched that gathering, and it had pained her greatly to do so. It pained her to watch the justification to their own clanmates later, just as it had pained her to watch Windclan‘s reputation be dragged through the mud again and again. "I can’t say I approve of what was done, Batsong. You let your anger cloud your judgement. You let your need for vengeance blind you. You slandered the reputation of two leaders because you thought you could, and you thought that Starclan’s message meant you could be judge, jury and executioner. This was not something that would come without backlash, and whatever happens because of your outburst I cannot shield you from. Nor would I, if I’m being honest. You are my daughter, but you are not immune to consequence, Batsong." She shook her head with a heavy sigh. When she glanced at Batsong again, her gaze was hard, pale eyes glittering like ice. "You, Shrikestar... Smallbean, you all should have known better. I gave Shrikestar the life of clear judgment, and it seems he refuses to use it. You both had no right to claim Starclan’s support over the matter. Blood wasn’t shed that night, claws were not unsheathed. That is the extent of it. I’d hoped someone among the living would have the good sense to end that mockery of a gathering before it started." Windclan seemed to blunder from one mistake to the next, and had Swiftspirit known things would turn out the way they had... Well, it didn’t matter. She was in the stars, killed by her own lapse in judgement, was she not?
Batsong mentioning stepping down was not a shock to Swiftspirit. She seemed genuine in her wish for guidance, and Swiftspirit would not begrudge her that, however angry she was. "Well, you certainly don’t have your clanmates’ faith, if you want to remain a medicine cat. Stepping down won’t save you their ire, I’m afraid. What Windclan needs more than anything else right now is stability, Batsong, and you need an apprentice. I cannot make the decision of whether or not to step down for you, and however much you’ve thought over your options, think about them again. This decision doesn’t involve only you, but the clan, much like the mistakes that have led you to me now.” Their time was growing short, however, and Swiftspirit stood. "We don't have time here, Batsong. Think about how your actions will affect others." And with that, the starry she-cat faded from view.
