Subject: Father-Daughter Hunting [Echomist] Tue 9 May 2023 - 15:41
"Hey dad," Moondancer allowed a rare smile to form as she met Echomist at the camp's entrance. She hadn't spent much time around either of her parents recently, so it would be nice to go hunting together. The last few rays of sunlight were quickly fading as the two made their way toward the pine grove.
Moondancer opened her mouth to speak... And the soft noise of pawsteps among the grass had Moondancer turning towards the direction it came from, with a flick of her tail to signal she'd found something. Dropping into a crouch, the dark silver tabby stalked forward. A well-timed leap and slice of her claws, and the warrior turned back toward her father with the mouse in her jaws.
Moondancer attempted to catch a mouse. Catch was successful! 117 / 120 sp
Echomist nodded his head in greeting to his daughter. A small soft smile touching his maw before he fell into silence again. He was glad to spend time with his family, he would need to seek out some of the others soon too but for now it was just him and Moondancer. Which he was perfectly fine with.
As she broke off to hunt, so did he. He moved silently through the grove, looking for one of his favorites. Green eye scanning through the area for a sign of movement when one hop gave away the prey. The tom followed and stalked the frog until he pounced. The senior warrior managed to catch the frog, returning to his daughter with his own prey as she presented her mouse.
They had both caught something, that was good. It meant the clan wouldn't go hungry, and without the threat of going back to camp with empty paws, Moondancer could relax a little.
"How've you been?" She felt like she'd hardly spent time with her father since becoming a warrior, and this patrol was as good a chance as any to catch up with him, she figured.
