Battle Patrol [Feral Thunder Signs ups only]

Darkspirit galloped madly right behind Mottlestar with a few warriors in tow. The sounds of the barking dogs and the cacophony of yowling set his fur on end. At least they were easy to find. It only took a few moments to come upon the area where the noise was coming from, but with Darkspirit's adrenaline on full blast and his heart in his ears, it may as well have been an eternity.

He slid to a halt at the sight.

Three massive rottweilers were barking like mad at three strange cats, one of which Darkspirit remembered seeing on that day his patrol tried to find the strangers.

One she-cat was spotted and silver furred, another was golden and spotted, and a tom with reddish fur that looked completely unlike the others was in between the two of them. Their fur stood on end and they were hissing, spitting and yowling ferociously as the giant dogs advanced.

The silver-furred, spotted she-cat's eyes snapped in the direction of the patrol, the dogs having their backs to the Thunderclan cats, entirely unaware of their presence for now. She made odd noises like a yelp and a mew with no discernable words. She tried again and again as the dogs lunged forward and her companions swatted viciously to keep them at bay.

Slowly… surely… her yipping meows started to sound like a language.

"Huyp ss…. Helf ss… help ss… help us!" She called out, struggling to make words. Darkspirit froze, then looked to Mottlestar for direction.

"Leader, what do we do?" Darkspirit asked, hoping she had some kind of plan.

Three black and brown beasts exploded forward, barking wildly. The golden spotted female let out an uncertain hiss, hackles rising. Long claws unsheathed, digging into the unfamiliar ground as she glanced at her two companions. There were three of them and three dogs, but she was under no illusion about their chances. These dogs were massive, while she and her companions were not. Her heart was pounding as she eyed the dogs, every muscle tense. It didn't seem as if they would be able to flee, not this time. Their luck had to run out eventually, of course, such as it was.

She was so focused on the dogs in front of them that she didn't notice the cats creeping in behind them, at first. Not until her silver-spotted companion spoke. The golden-spotted cat glanced from her to the cats behind the dogs, eyes widening slightly in recognition of one. The tom with the silver and gold pelt was the one who had chased her, not that he'd come close to catching her, of course.

The cats might've been just as hostile as the dogs were, but they had a common enemy for now, didn't they? Speaking was a struggle for the she-cat, but she managed a single, quiet word. "Please."

One of the dogs strayed just a tad too close, and she reacted on instinct, swiping at the overgrown beast with a growl rumbling in her chest. Fighting wasn't going to be enjoyable in the slightest... But there was no running from these dogs.

The sounds had put even her fur to full attention on the back of her neck, all the way down her spine, straight through her tail. Little was able to really disturb the molly anymore to the point of fluffing her up to double her size, but the unholy yowling and barking was certainly one way to do it. Another was easily the prophecies and chaos swirling around Thunderclan, but somehow, even that hadn't managed to ruffle the tortoiseshell's fur. This, on the other paw... This was more than enough. This was something that would never leave her mind.

With her warriors in tow, Darkspirit on her heels, Mottlestar wasted no time in charging towards the sound of the cacophony. The sight before her amber gaze was much different than she could have ever anticipated, but there was no time in letting it throw her off. Enemy number one, quickly marked by their viscious snapping and ebony pelts, were the dogs that seemed to show no mercy.

Whether they were enemy or ally for the second odd set of pelts her gaze found was still in the air. Three of them, none of them seeming to hail from Thunderclan or anywhere in the forest she had once known. But their words... Those words, the cry for help, she could not turn down.

One look behind to her deputy, dutifully awaiting orders, was all it took for her decision to be made. No matter what happened, those dogs were of trouble. Even if whatever feline-esque cats posed a threat later on, they at least had communication on their side. Those feral beasts on the other hand... There was no reasoning with them. There was only bloodshed, murder, and lives that could be paid. Thoughts of Fourtrees not too long ago ripped through her mind, and that was an image that she could have gladly gone without seeing again.

One glance behind her, and Mottlestar's tail stood straight in the air. "Thunderclan, go after the dogs only! Aid the felines- we will talk with them after! Split evenly, and be careful! Retreat if you get injured!" Her war orders were clear, a yowl carrying above the cacophony that otherwise sounded in the area.

With her orders made, the tortoiseshell led her own charge. She aimed for the rottweiler next to the one the feline with the spotted fur had made its target, and out of the corner of her eye she studied the move. Sturdy, and certainly useful. That was all the time that she could dedicate, however, as she launched herself at her target. Claws outstretched, and a hiss curling at her jaw, the she-cat's claws quickly found purchase at the beast's muzzle and face.

A knarly howl escaped the tom as three lean, muscled beasts broke through the blossoming foliage in front of them. A pang of sorrow hit him as it became more apparent that this was nothing like his original home...

But tears could be shed later. Either of his female companions that flanked him had started to speak, dragging his attention to the what he hoped wouldn't be an added threat. "Be help!" There was no time to carefully pick his words, or attempt to communicate with these foreign entities that had seemingly tracked them back down from their last encounter- time was against them all.

The only reason he had chosen to fight was because one of the beasts lunged for one of his two companions.

Ears back, the tom gave an ugly tongue-out hiss before swiping sharp claws across black and brown pelt.

Just as his claws made contact, a flash of red fur flew past him and the piercing squeal of a surprised dog rang out.

There were those strange, guttural yowls again as the ThunderClan battle patrol neared their target: three unfamiliar, oddly uncanny felines fang to fang with three dogs. Had these dogs been significantly smaller in size, a 3 on 3 battle would have been fair... But these dogs had muscles rippling beneath sleek pelts and towered over even the biggest warriors here.

Eyes trained on both intruders, the command from her mother to attack the dogs was like a release word for Firefly. Claws immediately latched onto the lean body of dog number 3, intercepting its attack on the tom whose fur resembled the russet warriors own. She had not been trying to save him, although his broken "Th...an.. k yo..u" would make it seem like she had.

As Mottlestar gave their orders, Nightdancer silently leapt into action: finding that no one had yet come to their leader's aid, she decided to do what she could to incapacitate the dog before her. She accomplished this goal by leaping onto its back and sinking claws and teeth into the back of its neck, and shaking as roughly as she could- difficult, given the difference in size, but if this worked it would be well worth the effort.

She was skilled when it came to sparring, and fighting other cats (and even predators that were around the same size)- but the same tactics needed to be adjusted for a much larger opponent.

As the cause of the commotion finally came into view, Lichenwing slowed to a halt to observe. Three massive dogs, three strange cats that were clearly not from the forest. Well, not this one at least... he supposed they had to have come from a forest. Somewhere. The rest of ThunderClan was still getting their bearings, but to Lichenwing, the right thing to do was clear: they had to help, right? Heck, he wouldn't stand around and watch even ShadowClan get mauled by dogs.

Luckily, it seemed Mottlestar was on the same page, as she quickly ordered ThunderClan forward, and without wasting a beat, Lichenwing surged into battle, with a yell of, "Well, what're y'all waitin' for?!" The first dog to have attacked the golden spotted she-cat seemed the be the boldest, so, naturally, that was the one he went for. Legs moving so quickly they were practically a blur, the stormy tom leaped at the dog's rear end, setting one set of claws on the outside of the leg, and the other on the sensitive, inner thigh as he connected. He dug his claws in deep. That was sure to get the beast's attention.

Lichenwing used Front Paw Strike and Desperate Blows, for a combined 13 damage at the cost of 14 stamina.

Darkspirit launched himself forward at Mottlestar's command. He didn't know these other cats, but what he did know was that they were hunting on Thunderclan's land and that alone was enough to tear them to pieces. Still, the fact that dogs were impossible to reason with was more pressing. He'd deal with the dogs for now, then he would deal with the strangers afterward.

The silver spotted she-cat was relieved that the domestic felines were willing to assist. Her companions and herself just might have a chance now. Encouraged and emboldened by the unexpected reinforcements, she leaped forward as well, intending to do devastating damage to the dogs in the hopes that they would retreat and find easier prey elsewhere. Or die.

The golden spotted she-cat dug her claws into the oversized mutt's pelt. The tear of her claws through fur and flesh and the feeling of blood on her paws wasn't something she particularly liked, but they had claws for a reason and in cases like this she had no problem defending herself. The domestic cats jumped into the fray which she was grateful for, though in the middle of a fight she wasn't fool enough to turn and thank them. Hopefully they could deal with the dogs quickly, then she and her companions would... They would... She didn't know. They had been wandering for what felt like moons with no end in sight to their search for familiar ground. Either way, the dogs were the more important focus now.

It seemed this dog problem would soon sort itself out as the slightly less muscular cats took turns with both teeth and claws into the beasts black and brown pelts. A few cats were saying things... Though he couldn't quite make out what was being said. It was probably nothing of importance when compared to the situation at paw.

While the others had hold of the top half of the dog, an opening for its belly appeared. One strong kick off the ground in a crouch, the red wild tom slid across the ground and... Completely overshot the dog, slamming into the base of a tree on the other side.

Comfreyheart's frantic caterwaul of 'NO!' made Firefly stumble a bit, thinking that maybe one of the dogs had managed to launch onto some cats throat already. Fortunately, that fear was quickly put to rest as her former mentor latched onto the face of dog Firefly had targeted. Her ears went back in annoyance. That was dramatic... Why did she even yell like that?

With yet another dog distracted, Firefly flung herself forward, sliding under the dog and raking all four sets of claws along its belly. An ear-splitting scream from the beast was her reward.

With clanmates by her side, as well as the unfamiliar, silver feline, Mottlestar at least felt better about their outcomes. She wasn't about to let these canines go without a fight, as clearly, they were the bigger threat at the moment. Just as the silver wild cat had done, she attempted to slide her body beneath the canine, only to accidentally collide with the wild cat. She wasn't used to fighting alongside such large creatures. "Sorry," she quickly said, throwing her torso back around.

Mottlestar failed a belly rake! She suffered a recoil of 5 HP and used 25 stamina.
