Valley's stomach growled for the seventh time that morning, reminding the tom that he had yet to eat since two sunrises before. Not that there are any prey to be found in this place... only the occasional scraps from passing Twolegs and the crow-food found pratically everywhere. As if on cue, the reek of rotting meat flooded the tabby's senses, making him spit and change directions. How disgusting... when was the last time his paws were clean?

Valley slowed to a stop as he caught sight of a body in the shadows. A familiar scent wafted up to greet him... a rat... was he truly that desperate that he'd eat a rat? Yes, yes he was. Dropping into a crouch, Valley tried his best to get closer to the rat without him noticing. Even after so many moons on his own, he still wasn't used to hunting alone. Springing to his paws, Valley lunged forward and slammed his claws down on the creature. The rat shrieked then fell limp in his grip. Valley closed his eyes and tried not to puke as he took a bite from the stringy flesh.
