A non-believer should not step on sacred land[OPEN]

Valley stepped out of the undergrowth, opening his mouth to take in the stale scents of many, many cats. They could have been here only a few sunrises ago. His paws slid into the dents in the ground, all molded by thousands of paws, as he padded into the center of the clearing. Recently, after eavesdropping on passing "patrols", he learnt of the five Clans living in this area. A sign escaped the tom. Just when he thought that his journey would finally end after some many moons, and that he'd found the perfect place to settle down, away from his past, he learns that not only is the land already marked by other cats, those cats would be more than willing to shred his pelt off if he so much as stepped on "their" land.

He raised his head to look at the moon above. Faint wisps of clouds covered the bright glow, leaving only a few dim rays to light up the clearing. His stomach growled, reminding him that despite it being spring, prey was as scarce as winter. Tasting the air, Valley finally managed to pin-point a mouse under all those cat scents. He dropped into a crouch, and stalked slowly towards his prey. He lunged forward, only to hear a sudden snap of a twig behind him. The mouse fled into the shadows, leaving nothing but a few shivering blades of grass in it's place. Valley whipped around, his claws unseathed. "Who's there?" He demanded.

A slender cinnamon tom slipped out of the shadows, lazily inspecting his claws. “Oh, nobody important,” he drawled, then his whole demeanor changed. “Who are you, trespasser? I don’t know how you got here, but if you set a single paw on ShadowClan territory you can expect far worse than me.” Hackles raised, Sunflare gave a raspy growl.

Valley watched the slender tom warily. This must be one of the cats who lived with Batswarm... both of them carried the stench of marshland and pine. Are all Clan cats this rude? Valley unseathed his claws. Wouldn't hurt to give this tom a few scratches to carry home, would it? Maybe he'll learn to be a bit nicer in the future.

With a hiss, Valley launched himself forward, knocking the tom backwards.

Sunflare’s fur stood on end as the weight of the rogue slammed into him. How dare this scoundrel defy a ShadowClan warrior? Hissing, he dropped onto his back, fully intending to dig his unsheathed claws into his opponent’s tender underside. However, Sunflare was used to fighting on the soft earth of the marsh, not the packed ground of Fourtrees. The blow of his own impact startled him and he took his enemy’s strike full force.
