OOC: Open to any WindClan cats once Stormdance posts.
Perchstar had been assigned to patrol the WindClan border alongside Stormdance. It seemed that the days of having only neutral or favorable relationships with other Clans were over; the nonsense Batsong had spewed at the Gathering saw to that. Certainly they were not the only ones that now viewed WindClan in a lesser light. ThunderClan and ShadowClan certainly would, for starters. But no matter how many other cats in the forest no longer saw WindClan as an equal presence, the fact remained that if their other decisions were being made this haphazardly, they could no longer be trusted to stay on their own side of the scent-markers. Therefore, Poppyshine had agreed with her that border patrols were to be strengthened on this side of the forest. She and Stormdance--her most trusted senior warrior other than the deputy herself--could certainly see to it that the markers remained in their proper places and that RiverClan territory remained safe.
The wind strengthened as they grew nearer to the Gorge. The Clan bordering theirs was not named WindClan for nothing; the hollow ravine between their territories caused any gusts going through it to howl hauntingly loud. One such gale whipped Perchstar's long ruff of fur around her neck as she stood at the edge, peering across with sharp icy-blue eyes. The markers currently seemed untouched... but who knew how long they would stay as such. WindClan had the Gorge as part of their territory--they were welcome to it; it held practically no hunting value. However, if they were to stray any further than the domain they had been explicitly granted, then RiverClan would not hesitate to defend it. The leader glanced over at Stormdance, her patrol partner, to make sure that he was not lagging behind. What had he thought of this whole Gathering situation? They had yet to have a truly deep discussion about it. She resolved that once they were far enough from the border, she would bring up the topic. But it might be indecorous to discuss Batsong's faux pas within earshot of WindClan's territory.

Stormdance
The Gorge
Stormdance padded beside his leader, a little tense and on edge as they patrolled the border. He squinted as the gust of wind raced over them, a shiver cutting through him despite his thick fur. His mind was churning over the events of the gathering as he examined the gorge. He’d hadn’t seen a gathering go that poorly (outside of outside forces such as twoleg interruption) since Cloverheart’s death so many moons ago, when he was still but an apprentice. He was grateful that Riverclan was not at the center of the action this time around, but Batsong’s actions would have reverberating effects through all five of the clans.
So Stormdance was on guard. He wanted the conflict to stay far away from his clan's borders, but he had no doubt things would continue to spiral from here. The energy in the forest had shifted as soon as Batsong had leapt onto the great rock, and he felt it buzzing underneath his skin. Another thing he was grateful for is unlike when tensions were brewing between Skyclan and Riverclan so many moons ago; Stormdance was not a brand new, anxiety-ridden apprentice with very little ability to speak of. He was more than capable of helping to keep his clan safe, and that helped to know.
Stormdance’s eyes shifted from the gorge and the Windclan territory beyond it back to Perchstar, offering her a slight smile and a nod when she looked back at him. He trusted Perchstar to lead them through as always, and that helped too. Whatever else may happen in the forest, their clan was together and growing strong once more. He could hold onto that through his worry.

Sootstorm led his patrol down to the border, his ears pricked for the slightest of sounds. They had been increasing the border patrols as ordered to, and many warriors were beginning to get tired from the constant patrols. His green eyes drifted to bank of the gorge. Two figures stood there, seeming to be on patrol as well. I wouldn't be surprised if other clans also increased their border patrols for Windclan, he thought glumly to himself. As he drew closer, he recognized the familiar gray-and-white she-cat and the darker tom. Perchstar and Stormdance. Riverclan's leader, and one of Riverclan's best warriors. The new warrior had not expected it to be this bad. Perhaps if he was friendly enough, they wouldn't start a fight.
Once he was within sight of the Riverclan patrol, Sootstorm dipped his head in greeting, trying his best to keep his actions respectful. They were his supperiors, after all, even if they were from another clan.
