Kestrelflight wheezed as she trekked the last steps in front of the large cliff, topped with a gaping cave. Plopping down, she fought to slow her breathing. Time had really caught up with her since the Icestream incident, and well, the poor crazy medicine cat was getting quite old. Luckily, Kestrelflight had returned to the dark and musty cave for a special reason- she had an apprentice. While Kestrelflight wasn't to keen of having to train a new cat, she knew that death would be eating her soul soon. At least, that's what Lilacstorm had said. Redheart just nodded a sad agreement. Speaking of her two- and pretty much only friends- she had decided it best if they were left at the den, to watch over things. Redheart had said that he knew a few tricks in case a problem arose. Lilacstorm agreed, and said a larger patrol would attract attention. So naturally, the she-cat agreed to go with just her apprentice.
After finally catching her breath, Kestelflight looked... glared... up at the young cat. Why did she have to be so young? Giving a huff, she stood. "Ivypaw, it's almost time for the moon to shine into the cave. Hurry up, you lump." Hissing, Kestrelflight started the climb to the cave, not even caring if the younger cat could keep up or not.
