Mudshriek was, as always, looking for new ways to show Windclan how lucky they were to have him as a clanmate. Bored of the usual hunting and patrolling, he found himself seeking out Batsong. She and Birchpaw seemed to be handling their duties relatively well, though he was sure they'd be overjoyed by an offer of help from such an esteemed warrior as himself. He approached the medicine cat with an easygoing smile, already prepared for the outpouring of gratitude he would soon be receiving.

"Batsong, I've come to offer aid. I'm sorry for not arriving sooner, I'm sure you must have been terribly devastated not to have been granted the privilege of my expert assistance. I'm willing to help with whatever you need, whether it's sorting herbs or a strong, capable escort into the territory. Oh, and don't bother thanking me - it is my duty after all." His benevolence was boundless, he was likely the best thing that had ever happened to Windclan.

Batsong had always been a shy and reserved cat. So when a very loud and energetic warrior came prancing into her den she blinked a couple times taking in his words as he rattled them off so quickly and full of confidence.

She couldnt help but to give a shy giggle listening to him... She knew from others and talk around that alot of her clanmates found him overconfident and sometimes a bit arrogent.... and others probably saw him as downright obnoxious...


But despite what others thought, Batsong kinda liked it... Her quite and soft spoken deminer and usually low confidence in herself was admittedly a bit attracted to his style a bit.

Batsong did have a little hint of that mischief as well though too.

"dont b-bother thanking you?? hmm .. ok we-well if you insist I g-guess I w-wont she giggled with a joking playful wink.

and yes... we w-were actually devastated t-that we couldnt have gotten you s-sooner she nodded playing into it a little.

she thought about his offer... getting to spend the day with him would be pretty nice actually... and since he was offering to help out.

She shrugged and gave a little nod

"I would lo-love a w-warrior who is very strong t-to escort me in f-fact" she stuttered a bit. ... was she playing to his ego?? hmm maybe a little bit but she didnt mind doing so really, the clan could use some of this confidence... even if he was very cocky... something about him , his charm, how he was able to just walk into any room and hold the attention of anyone there. ... (well if not everyone certainly Batsong's)

Smallbean and Shrikestar had wanted her escorted on any herb hunting she would be doing ever since the fox incident with Daisybreeze's death.

and besides, she rather liked his overconfidence, it gave her some hope and evened out some of her pessimistic look on things.


"than... thanks she purred quielty...

"oh... or not thank you since you said no need ri-right? she giggled flicking her tail gently at him.

"A-alright come on then! M-my brave escort, y-your med cat needs your p-protection she had to bite her tounge a little not to laugh at this, she was overplaying with him a little but she really did like his company and besides, any compliment to him would have him feeling great she was sure.

Somehow just having him around just made her feel better, it was just recently that she was worrying to smallbean how unsure of herself she was... but Mudshrieks attitude, it made her feel more confident in herself too... and all he had done was walk over and ask how he could help...

Hmm if this went well she might also soon belive he was one of the best things to happen to windclan as well.


She walked next to him and peeked over at him every so often as they left camp...

"ermm so h-hows warrior life treating y-you? she asked a little shyly

once she got to know someone she opened up more but at first she could be a bit shy and closed off... but Mudshriek she already liked so it wasnt as hard as with others. For him to get her talking this much already he had already made a good first impression... it didnt hurt that he was kinda cute too....

(OH WHAT?? dont everyone freak out at once) she knew the rules, it didn't say that she couldn't look... and besides she had been slowly considering to herself if one day she would return to warrior life... once Birchpaw had more expereince and she helped him find an apprentice perhaps.
