Ravenkit's Apprentice Ceremony

The wind rustled Smallbean's pelt as he stood atop the Tallrock, overlooking the clan. It had been a while, but Windclan was finally getting new apprentices again. The newest apprentice would be Ravenkit, although the young tom didn't know yet- or at least the deputy didn't think so.

Clearing his throat and taking a deep breath, Smallbean summoned his clan. "All cats old enough to run the moors gather around the Tallrock for a clan meeting!" Hopefully the kit would show up the clan meeting anyways.

Ravenkit’s ears pricked as he heard the Smallbean’s call. It wasn’t too often that the deputy held a lot of Clan meetings; often, the ones he did hold were apprentice ceremonies. Ravenkit was pretty sure he was the oldest kit in the nursery at this point, so there was a chance today would finally be the day. Then again, he’d had that thought every time Smallbean called for the Clan to gather, and he was still a kit. Even though he was bigger now than he was at the last meeting - he’d had that thought every time, too. The tomkit was slightly disheartened by his thoughts, but he padded out to join his Clanmates nevertheless.

To his delight, the kit soon appeared from the nursery's entrance, although he didn't look all that excited. Making eye contact with Ravenkit, he nodded, ever so slightly. "Ravenkit, please step forward." He paused for a moment, giving the young tom time to do so. "You have now reached the age of six moons and are ready to become an apprentice. From now until you become a warrior, you will be known as Ravenpaw. Your mentor will be..." He'd already chosen who Ravenpaw's mentor would be, but he made sure the tom was in the crowd anyways. "Adderdawn. I trust that he will pass down all he knows to you."

With the ceremony completed, the deputy carefully jumped from the Tallrock, joining his clanmates in celebration.
