Wolfblossom was glad to be on patrol with her sister, cheerfully rousing the other she-cat and leading the way from camp. Protests, if there were any, would only fall on deaf ears. The weather had finally started to cool, and the sky above was clear. A soft breeze ruffled their fur, and as far as Wolfblossom was concerned it was a perfect day to hunt and catch up with Trufflesnap.
"How are you, Trufflesnap?" She asked quietly, paws slowing their pace as she spoke. They were nearing the creek, and with it, the chance to catch prey would interrupt the conversation.
Trufflesnap padded along neutrally with Wolfblossom. They had simply just spread apart due to growing up and living, but she held no qualms with this sister... Yet. She paused to cough and hack after her sister's question, then turned to her and shrugged. "I'm doing well enough. I got my first apprentice. Drizzlepaw or something. But you know that already, you were there." She finally replied with a slight wheeze to her voice. She continued walking. Her mind wandered to the pretty she-cat, just over the border. She wouldn't really dare to tell anyone about her little crush... But she wished she could.
Wolfblossom winced at Trufflesnap's coughing fit before she answered, though if Fogfeather had let her out of the den, she hoped that meant that she was well and truly recovered for the most part. Trufflesnap's answer was rather flippant, and she snorted. "Oh, don't give me that, you're excited to have an apprentice." Wolfblossom grinned, playfully nudging her sister's shoulder. She noted the slight wheeze that seemed to be lingering as well, and glanced up at her sister, concern flickering in her blue eyes. "You'll be alright, won't you?" She asked, "I was so busy training Thornstalker, I need to spend more time with you and our siblings."

Trufflesnap laughed slightly and stopped to scent for prey. "I am excited. Surprised as well. Birdchaser must have been swallowing back vile when she said my name as her apprentice? The look in her eyes." She hesitated at the question, and wasn't quite sure how to respond at first. "Have I ever been fine? But these lungs won't kill me before Birdchaser does, that's for sure." It was then that she scented prey, a bird. Nodding to her sister she trailed off, following the scent quietly. When the bird came into question, a dove ironically enough, and crouched. The catch was flawless, and soon she was trotting back to Wolfbreeze with the dove dangling from her maw.
"Oh, come on," Wolfblossom huffed, though her whiskers did twitch in amusement at Trufflesnap's words, "It wasn't that bad." At least, Wolfblossom would've liked to think it so. She knew her siblings could argue, but- "We're sisters, Trufflesnap." She added, falling silent as the calico spotted prey. A dove, she realized forcing herself to ignore the sharp tug in her chest at the reminder of their father, even if it was just a bird. Shaking her head, Wolfblossom turned to search for something of her own to catch.
The flutter of wings above had her leaping into a nearby tree, and Wolfblossom quickly found the source - a wren had landed on a branch above. Carefully, she made her way toward it. She was too big to be truly graceful in the trees like Ravenclaw or some of her other clanmates, but she managed to land with claws snagging the wren's wing as it attempted to take flight. Killing it swiftly, the pale tabby and white she-cat dropped back to the forest floor.
"Good catch." She purred, trotting towards Trufflesnap with her own dangling from her jaws.
