Rookfire almost didn't exist. I only made him to bring stability to a ShadowClan medicine cat spot that desperately needed it, and he quickly became my favorite character on my old roster.

Kitespring is based off of me. Her anxiety, her love of her family, her creativity in flower collages/storytelling, her crush on Poppyshine and her never wanting to ask her out because she doesn't want to make the relationship she has with her weird, all of that is based off of me and my inner monologues.

I did NOT plan Snowfoot passing out and I don’t know where I’m going with it! She pretty much writes herself sometimes.

Myrtleturtle's name ended up being a pure joke.

Namely suggested by my fiance.

Nightpaw was supposed to be way worse than she is. I really didn't expect her to potentially get a Becoming Nicer arc. (Roseburn is really working overtime on the mean girl energy for WCC, though- and I love her for it!)

All my characters have themes that I usually stumbled upon by accident, but will talk about at length if I not stopped. Leopardsun's theme (at least right now) is trauma and unhealthy coping mechanisms; Thalia's is what it means to be a good person; and so far Nightpaw's theme is grief.

I'm planning on all of my current roster to get to T5! Guess which ones will actually make it ;)

I was looking at the Family Tree recently, and I never thought I’d find a connection between Snowfoot and Blazefang but there is one! Their sisters’ boyfriends are uncle and nephew.

Mottlestar's leadership ceremony legitimately qualifies as a novella.

Snowfoot’s voice claim started out as being Elsa from Frozen, aging as Snow did. But it didn’t stop there. As she grew a bit older and settled down more, I felt the voice I imagined no longer fit her, so it largely shifted into Rose Quartz from SU, with “cracks” of Elsa showing through when she’s nervous or upset..

Blazefang’s voice claim always has been and probably always will be Anna from Frozen. But who knows really.

Lightpaw’s voice claim is Kiara from TLK2/TLG. Primarily her TLK2 voices, but with a little TLG (early seasons) around the beginning of her apprenticeship. This will almost certainly change once she’s been a warrior for a bit.

Why are all the voices pulled from animated characters? They’re simply more memorable to me. Chalk it up to my autism I guess.

smallbean came to be after I had an epiphany in the cbox circa 2020 , realizing that a cat could legally be named smol bean

My next two characters are already being planned and will be named Sagekit and Lionkit. Not revealing anything further at this time.

Dawnfeather was originally planned to be a spoilt brat overly full of herself with a stinging tongue. she was supposed to struggle secretly with insecurity and with being compared to her uncle. for anyone who knows who dawn is, this is the exact opposite of her. i literally had this personality written down on her cat creation topic and was double-checking the allegiances to make sure the name wasn’t taken when i realized how many aggressive cats were on there and decided to make up her personality on the fly. her warrior name probably would’ve been Dawneagle (just to rub it in) or Dawnsting.

Astraeus was originally exceptionally devoted to his family, but when I dropped off the face of the earth he did too. to explain why he disappeared i’m planning on having his personality change significantly, probably with the help of some meta musings posts i have planned. he’s gonna be utterly selfish and i love it.

dawn has excellent genes when it comes to physical well-being as she ages. as an elder she’ll be nearly as fit as a cat in their prime. however her memory will be absolutely terrible - this will account for an elder’s decently high hp stat while the reduced damage will show how she’s forgetting her training. this won’t happen for a while though

my first character, smokepelt, actually is an interesting idea and i hope to explore it with asterquill (planned kitteh). smoke was originally going to be Wolfkit but i changed my mind minutes before a staff member saw her creation post.

i considered naming dawn willowwisp, as it matches her dreamy personality. unfortunately, i cannot stand the two ‘w’s in a row. can’t take it.

astraeus and dawn canonically met up in twolegplace (so i can explain A’s knowledge of the Clans and it’s just cool)

The Sagekit and Lionkit thing…
I had Sunkit in queue too. He jumped the waitlist when I realized he’s perfect for the Scorchmallow litter! Sagekit and Lionkit are still waiting their turn, as is another planned cat, Flickerkit.

Dawn is already struggling with light memory issues- it’s hard for her to remember anything from before her apprenticeship (and traumatic head wound) and it’s just gonna get worse as she ages- eventually she’ll settle into an odd idea of what season it is- half her apprenticeship with Prima, Muddy, and Beechaunt- and half roughly about now, with Smokekit, Wolfblossom, and Briarstar. She’s already close to a year and a half old- when she hits the two year mark should be when her memory starts seriously going and she’ll retire.

I have plans for Russetpaw to ‘go on an adventure’ eventually, maybe dragging along a few friends to starfall territory or perhaps even further!

Hentooth was the first cat on the site with the Hen- prefix to actually keep it. (Her aunt, Henkit/Harebounce, didn’t keep it)

Frondkit is the first cat on the site with that prefix!

I have plans for a future character to perhaps be related to Varian, and therefore Scorchtalon and his kits.

I made Russetpaw because i miss Hen, and even now still somewhat regret killing her off… but she’d missed too much and would probably be far less spunky with all of her sons dead.

Astraeus’ name comes from the Greek god of the dusk! A nice little parallel with his father. His alias, Asphodel, not only also starts with an ‘A’, was historically associated with the dead and as a safeguard against sorcery (or the un-dead he fears and hates).

Beechface/Beechfang was also the first character with her prefix (and currently the only one to make it to warrior). And yes, her original name was absolutely an insult/reference to her beechy character.
