The three hunters

Sprucepaw was a very strict rule follower. He did as he was told always, followed every part of the code even the little things that some forgot. And was very organized and orderly . Everything about him like this. His fur perfectly groomed with not a hair sticking out. His posture always good and never slouching over. The way he greeted others, always very formal and polite. Especially to warriors who he followed their orders to.


The young Tom was very happy to be assigned a patrol with stormdance and hawkshriek . He didn’t know them super well yet but he was very happy to get to meet new friends.

He was sure that he could learn lots from his clanmates here.

Sprucepaw nodded listening to the warriors advise and agreeing with them about the shallower part being a good option.  Stormdance mentored his brother Rowanpaw and it was not uncommon for Sprucepaw and Rowanpaw to disagree on things and get into argumentative disagreements.


Hopefully, Stormdance was having some luck training his unruly brother.

When they got to the river, Stormdance warned him to be careful.  He nodded respectfully, right, of course. he promised and would stick close to the more experienced warriors with him.


It was not long before his brother Hawkshreik caught a fish. Wow! he made that look easy!

Purring, Sprucepaw went near the river's edge.  He went upstream from where the warriors were... If something were to go wrong and he slipped in, it would give them more time to react since they would be downstream of it.

 He remembered what his mentor, Brookstone had told him and watched for the dark patches to move underneath his lifted paw... the trick was patience he remembered her saying.

He held super still not wanting to spook off any of the fish and waitied for what felt like a super long time, his paw began to feel heavy from holding it up above the water poised in the striking ready posiotn... and just before he was about to give up to take a break he spotted a fish comming from upstream, the silvery flashes giving it away in the sunlight beating down.

Grinning he waited eagerly for it to pass underneath.

Sprucepaw attempted to catch Fish for 3 SP. It was a Failure! Predator has been summoned


Just before he could swipe a the fish something hit his head very hard. Ouch! What in the world?? All the movement scared the fish off

HONKKK HONKKK

The biggest bird Sprucepaw had ever seen in his life was using its giant beak to peck at his head and it hurt alot.

Unknown to poor Sprucepaw, the nesting grounds for the goose was nearby and it had been distrupted from the earlier splashings made by Hawkshreik

Goose used Beaked Thrust for 10 dmg and 15 sp

The goose flapped its wings very aggressively as the poor apprentice was stunned rubbing his head with his tail.

It charged at him again but sprucepaw wasnt having it hit at him again uncontested.

He swiped at the big bird with claws hoping to scare it off.

Sprucepaw used front paw strike for 6 dmg and 7 sp

The goose was full out angry now! It flapped its wings agressivly and charged at the young apprentice while he was still recovering from the last attack.

It raised its beak high above the short little tom and brought it crashing down on Sprucepaw's head again.

His ears rang and everything got all fuzzy. He could see the warriors scrambling around him to try and scare this thing off but he felt his legs get super shaky and wobbly. stumbling he half fell half lowered himself to his side. He breathed heavily trying to catch his breath again from all this.

He tried to scramble to his paws but his body wouldnt listen. His head throbbed painfully and he covered up with his front paws.

Slowly... he felt his eyes closing as he passed out. His sides still breathed heavily as he was very much still alive he had just been hit pretty hard and was out of it for the rest of this fight.

Sprucepaw has been ko'ed

The angry bird that was defending what it thought to be its nesting area then turned to Hawkshreik

HONKKKK it challenged the warrior who had just scratched at it. It was beyond mad right now and wanted to bonk these strange looking creatures away from its nesting site. Why they went after fish was a mystery to the goose but he was determined to bonk these funny looking furrballs to the next moon.

(OOC: I think Arcana had asked for scars on Hawkshriek. Since the goose is pinned he cant really deal real damage in the fight but I will write up that it was like pecking and kicking and it like hit Hawk and it scarred him but didnt actually do any damage as far as the number stats for the topic goes since it is pinned and gooses have no moves to escape a pin)

Sprucepaw was completely out of it, his vision blurred and he only heard a muffled commotion above him as the fight waged on.

So I will tell this from the goose pov

The goose Honked loudly thrashing violently. It opened its beak revealing the many teeth it had along its maw.

(Someone in the discord recently shared a picture of goose teeth, they are terrifying look them up XD)

It was stuck under this big cat but it had no idea what a cat was. So to the goose, it was this fat furry thing sitting on top of it. HONK HONKKKK it protested pecking away at the furball above it. It bit at the fur monster ripping at bits of fur and pelt. Blahhh hairs in its mouth. it used its many teeth rows to bite at the cat who had it pinned down and it for sure left a mark

(im leaving it very vague on purpose so Arcana can pick where the scars went XD)

It was in for the fight of its life at this point... The goose had figured that it would be a very easy one two peck just like it had done to the smaller fur monster lying unconcious a couple feet away.. but these bigger fur creatures were alot tougher to take down... they must be the smaller ones parents (the goose has no way of knowing).

It kicked with its goose web foot thingies at the fur monster above it hoping to knock it off. It got some lucky hits in with its foot claw thing, but not enough to get itself free.
