Minnows and Roses [open]

Between everything going on within Thunderclan, it was a miracle that the deputy hadn't worked herself to death. The only thing that had forced her to actually finally stop doing absolutely everything she possibly could was the fact that she wasn't just a deputy - she also was a queen. Mottlerose had gotten to the point that her belly had been so swollen, she finally had to stop and rest. Moving around had her feel as if she had eaten way too much fresh-kill, and she practically relied upon the herbs that Fawnshine or Eggdrop brought her to keep her from being so nauseous. Still, even then, the deputy dragged herself out now and then to at least do something. To help organize some patrols, to make sure everyone was doing alright. She was much, much more confident than the last time she had kits, as knowing what went on made things much easier.

It had been some time since the kits had been born, and the mother was more than happy to take care of them all. Anyone who entered into the nursery to see her or them would just hear the tortoiseshell constantly purring, an unsurmountable joy rumbling. Three of the kits had mimicked her with the tortoiseshell markings, though one of those had the silvery coloring of their father. One of them was purely black, taking after Mottlerose. Then there was the little wildcard of the litter - the large, fluffy, ginger tom. All of them were so precious, so beautiful. Briarkit, Redkit, Molekit, Twilightkit, and Brightkit. All of their names she hoped would continue to fit them.

Mottlerose nuzzled each of them by her belly, as they'd been growing like the vines on the trees of their forest. "Wake up, my loves. We can go explore the camp today." Her gentle, loving voice called to each of them. They had all grown so, so much... and her heart only felt full.

Being born is a feeling only felt once at least in the life of a cat and then you would shortly after forget the feeling Brightkit of course was no exception and neither were Twilightkit or Molekit or Redkit or Briarkit, Brightkit however couldn’t say the same for everybody else, who knows maybe any cat she could see might have had the feeling twice or more of course some cats might remember the feeling as well.

As Mottlerose spoke she couldn’t really tell what Mottlerose said but she knew they were going outside so she went out into the open and saw a lot of cats who she couldn’t recognize but knew the concept of the clans and that these were her clanmates or so she thinks.

"Am I invited?"

Minnowstar popped his head into the nursery, his peripheral vision catching a bushy black tail making its way towards the sunlight. "Brightkit seems very eager to see what's outside." he noted, the unmistakable tone of loving care in his voice. Shuffling to keep behind her, he followed the kit out, glancing back at Mottlerose and the rest of his kits with shimmering eyes that told her everything. His eyes rested on everyone of them, Molekit, Redkit, Briarkit, Twilightkit and then back towards Brightkit. He loved them all.

"I'm not sure if I'm invited myself, but we could crash their little expedition together!" He responded cheerfully, glad to see Fawnshine's smile. Lowering himself, he prowled behind Brightkit, following the bundle of fur around. "How is Mottlerose's recovery going?" he asked, angling his ears towards the medicine cat.

As two of her kits would show their excitement to go outside, a warm purr continued to radiate from the tortoiseshell mother. The appearance of her mate only made that purr louder, her amber gaze meeting that of the tom in question. Smiling, she slowly got to her own paws, gently nuzzling at the kits that still seemed to wish sleep over leaving the nursery. Truth be told, she couldn't blame them. It was quite, quite comfortable in the nest. But, they needed to see the outside world.

The moment she led them outside and was greeted by Fawnshine as well, the she-cat couldn't help but chuckle. Turning back to her kits, she hummed. "It seems the whole Clan already is more than excited to see you!" She leaned down to nuzzle one of them, before nuzzling Minnowstar in greeting. "I'd love to have you both join us. It's more than time they get some dedicated 'meet-the-Clan' time, no?" She chuckled, watching as her mate followed around his daughter. "Loves, in case you forgot, this is Fawnshine, our medicine cat. She makes sure all of the sick are okay. And you know your father." She giggled, signaling for everyone to follow. If there was one thing that the mother did to pass the time in the nursery... it was gush about Minnowstar.

Molekit was more cautious about going outside. She heard about the dangerous foxes and badgers. Since she was not a kit to take risks, she stayed behind her littermates. She felt the warmth of the sun in her fur and purred, “The sun makes me feel happy, but why does it have to disappear every day?”She wasn’t usually the curious type, but she wanted the sun to be in the sky all day, so she could feel it’s heat on the ground deep through her paws.

"So that Shadowclan warriors may hunt and stalk at night." Muttered Nightstalker, an amber eye cracking open blearily. He usually just found whatever spot was available to sleep, but he had forgotten that all the other clans got up during the day and that perhaps because of that, settling near the clan's nursery was not the smartest choice. The young deputy gave a large yawn, tears sparkling at the corner of his sleepy eyes as he did so. "Their coats as black as night, like mine, make them the stealthiest cats around. You won't even know they're there until they're on ya'" Nightstalker teased, not half minding instilling a little fear of his clan in the young. Just meant that when they grew up, they'd steer clear of Shadowclan territory.

“Dad dad daD DAD DAAAAD!!” A little ball of fire shot out from between his mother’s paws, making a beeline for Minnowstar with no intent on slowing down. Redkit had proved himself to be a deep sleeper, but when he was finally awake? Every cat in earshot would know in an instant. The flame-colored tom leapt for his father’s back, missed, and clung to his flank with an almost star-like sparkle of excitement in his eyes. “I wanna go out! I wanna… I wanna catch an owl! Or a fox! Something big and scary” He was, of course, using his outside voice to speak almost directly into Minnowstar’s ear. His claws quickly grew tired of hanging on and Redkit slipped off to land right on his behind. Quickly though little tom’s attention was drawn to a twitching tail. Whose it was he didn’t care, he was gonna bite it anyway! Munch. Bite. Gnaw. There wouldn’t be rest for anyone today if he had anything to say about it!
